Default Vinci XXX cam

Well the results are in. I dragged the car for the first time at the corvette forum cruise in and also put it on the dyno.

I wasn't expecting it to hang on so well in the upper RPM. A couple of guys were trying to talk me into raising the rev limiter. There was a small flutter in the upper RPM but it was only on one pull. The other two pulls were nice and smooth. It was a blast on the track but I couldn't get it to hook.

nice numbers. looks like there is more to be had. the a/f ratio looks to be in the 11:1 area. needs to be leaned out to around 12.5-13:1 area. would get you closer to the 400 rwhp mark.

keep plugging away at the launching and you should see at least a 12.4 ET.

From that mph you should be in the low 12's at least. You have to get that 60' lower. You should be able to get it into the 1.7's with the 60' with the proper mods and tires.

Anyways looking good with a lot of potential in the car.

Great numbers Matt! Fix the AFR and you should pick up more power.

I can't wait to get all my stuff installed! (Waiting for Dart heads to come back from coating shop and cryo treater)

Your AFR seems to be a little fat and the 1.8 rockers might be hurting your top RPM. You want your AFR to be around 12.5.

He is a trusted tuner and has an excellent reputation on this forum. I am very happy with the car right now so I'm not even sure if I'll see him about adjusting the air/fuel unless it means picking up a lot of power or that it could cause problems. Everything else about the tune is excellent and his rate was reasonable.

I didn't mean to offend you or insult the tuner. You said you put it on the dyno, you didn't say you got it tuned. I thought maybe you just did a few pulls at a dyno day or something. Also your rich AFR made me think it wasn't tuned.

I'm not offended, just wanted to explain since I didn't above. The tune was performed without a dyno. The above graph was from the cuise in, I just wanted to see what it had.

What heads are you running? The only reason I ask is because I'm running that same cam with AFR 205's and I'm only getting 365 hp on an A-4. It looks like your there with the stock heads?

I'm running stock 241 heads. Those numbers of yours are definitely low. The numbers I put up were in 90 degree heat to boot. How does your car do at the track?

That's very low for the mods you have. Is that with a tune?

Those numbers are with a tune. If you look at the afr, its correct. I am running a 3000 stall so maybe that eats up 20-30. I used to have Patriot stage 2 heads, those had me 387 hp but the car didn't have the low end it has now. So I know I definatly benifited from the AFR 205's, but it doesn't show on the dyno.

I sent a link to this thread to Joe Vinci. Sorry for the Hijack I've been trying to figure out why my car is putting out low numbers for about a year now.

I would also contact Tony Mamo since you are running the AFR's. Also, was your converter locked during the dyno run?

according to the tuner it was locked. Tony Mamo keeps telling me to take off the 1.8 rockers which Joe and Rodger told me to leave on.
