Had alot of fun. Got to race a Z06 but I lost traction and had to let off. He ran a best of 11.2@125 1.7 60'(Stock + DRs)

Nice 55* weather today. Not quite Atco but damn close.

I really want to avoid converter and headers because of drivability on the street, noise, and smell. Maybe a small cam that is nearly unnoticable...

A converter would do wonders for you and not really affect street manners. That new vette is flying! Hope Santa brings me one!

A couple thoughts.

1) a small converter 2800 - 3000 stall doesn't add that much slop to the feel. To take out some of the slip, you can raise part throttle upshift and downshift points a couple mph. It will feel pretty close to stock.

2) I've done two different cams with stock manifolds on my SS. The first, a 210/222 112 110 made great torque down and was a snap to tune. It would work with the stock idle speed of an automatic. It would not be that hard to spec a similar cam to the LS3. I've attached a scan of the dyno (sorry about the quality). It was done on a mustang dyno so the numbers low, but look at the torque curve. Its the kind that would knock .1 - .2 off the stock stall's 60'.

What about the second cam?

Do you know what the stock stall is?

No clue what the stock stall is, but I'd throw it out and get at least a 3600rpm model in there.

My second cam is the 214/230 111 109 cam. I used Thunder's 214 lobe on the intake (~.600 lift) and a Xer lobe on the exhaust. It had no improvement on bottom end compared to my first cam, but the midrange and top end were better. For your LS3 and given that you want very clean operation, I'd look at a 218/230 115 112. That would bring your overlap back to -6 from 0 on my 214 cam. Combined with the extra displacement and compression of an LS3, it should run nice. If you want it even more like stock, go one size smaller and use a 116 LSA and 113 ICL.
