Default McLeod RST/RSX twin discs

Looking to get a new clutch for my brother's car. Already ate two SPEC Stage 3+'s and now a RAM Powergrip HD.

I know Street Twins have been around for years but now notice that McLeod offers two more options for twin disks, the RST and RXT.

Has anyone had any experience with these?

Thanks,

Doug D

RST-6912-07 For LS based motors. Softer than stock pressure good for 800hp. Bolts to your stock flywheel.

RXT-6932-07 For LS based motors. Same Pressure plate as RST. Upgraded Segmented ceramic (MIBA) discs. Good for 1000 HP.

Both units have Excellent Street manners.

Pretty much you can use your own flywheel, and there is less reciprocating mass on the back of the motor. RST 9-11/16" O.G. Street Twin 10.5".

I just ordered the RST with the mcleod flwheel

They will NOT work with the stock 4th gen f-body flywheels, you have to order the mcleod flywheel. They do work with the stock hydraulics which is great since mcleod has suspended selling their adj master cylinder.

There is good info regarding both of these clutches in the mcleod forums.

also after doing a google search for mcleod rst, I have seen many of the mustang and older muscle car guys (with big hp) trying them out and being happy with them. However some of the new GTO owners say they suck and mcleod sucks since being bought by B&M.

Mcleod and Speed inc, where both helpful in my decision to buy the RST

Either way I know mcleod has a history of being a great clutch and every forums has owners of every kind of clutch bitching about how bad there clutch is no matter what brand.

You never know how the owners drives, abuses, break ins or installed the clutch, to trust their word/work

Why won't they work with a stock flywheel? What part number did you get?

i just spoke with Mclead again and yes you can use the stock flywheel (ls1) if your clutch kit comes with the metric ring.

However they do not recommend re-surfacing the factory flywheel because of how thin it is to begin with.

the 6912-07 is the correct setup with use of stock flywheel or Mcleod 460530 flywheel in steel. 560530 in aluminum.
