Cam'd LS7 vs. SC'd LS3...**Video**
Hello all,
This morning I met up with WHPLASH. He took out his dad's SC'd Vet (automatic) to play a little. I got some good daytime footage so I thought I would share.
After watching the vid, I have come to the conclusion that, in my opinion, Dennis just needs to learn the paddle shift on that car. I say that because if you watch the 2nd race, we were practically even in 2nd gear ( I had to shut down because of a car in front of me). But all other races, I was ahead. I bet if we were to do it again with Dennis really familiarizing himself with the car, it would be a heck of a lot closer of a race. Enjoy...

Great times as usual, Dennis.

Its very hard to beat the Z06's power to weight ratio....especially when the LS7 is modded up well. Results sound about right. LS3 guy is just gonna have to pump up the boost and really learn to drive that car. Boosted cars make you pay more heavily for every mistake you make when racing.......sad but true.

How can a cam and bolt-ons C6Z06 only make 510whp? I couldnt get the vid to load but i would have guessed the ls3 to walk the ls7 considering both cars weigh pretty close to each other. The ls3 also has less drag at higher speeds so it should pull away on the highway.

I thought it would of been alot closer too. The LS7 is just a monster above 100+. It was my dads car and the second time I drove it, but still Fadi's car is the beast on the street!!!
Fadi, as always, I had fun!!!

When I dynoed my car on that Mustang dyno, it had 1,000 miles on it. Now it has 4,000 miles on it. So, lets get crazy and say I picked up 20 rwhp since then (which is not the case, I assure you guys) that would mean I am at 528 rwhp on that same dyno.
People keep on saying that this number is low, it can't be right, I have more HP, blah blah blah, but the fact of the matter is that this Katech cam package gets advertised at 520 rwhp. I am not sure what is so hard to believe here guys!?!?!?
I will re-dyno my car and will prove to everoyne that my car doesn't make a HP over 525 ON THAT SAME MUSTANG DYNO THAT I ORIGINALY MADE 508 ON.

Yeah, not much of a race there, more like a walk-away.
I'm real interested to see what that ZO6 runs at the track. Looks like you've got a factory freak that likes that bumpstick!
Our local shop did a cam/longtubes on one recently and I saw it run friday before last. In lousy DA and cutting crappy 60fts it went mid/high 11s@125-127 all night (noob driver as well on street tires in crappy air). That car put down 527 to the tires on a dynojet that reads consistently around 20rwhp less than TSP/LG's dynos have in the past FWIW.

Ya, a C6 Z06, on average, will put down 525 rwhp with a cam, bolt-ons, CAI, and a tune. You guys got to remember that I have NO port work at all on anything. Intake is stock, TB is stock, mufflers are stock.
When you port the intake, TB, and add mufflers to the cam and all the other bolt ons, then you start seeing 535-550 rwhp (550 being the high side and the lucky ones get it).
Regarding this race, I think two things came into play. 1) it is an auto vs. a M6, and 2) I don't think Dennis knew exactly how to drive that car to it's full potential. How do you explain the 2nd race?? Sure, I shut down early, but how is it that he was even with me all through 2nd, but the other races he wasn't?
I think if the driver learns the car and we race again, it will be a great race. Remember, this is not Dennis's own car, so he isn't used to it.
