Cool Any 6 or 7 second 1/4 mile members, any car & motor combo's

.

Just wondering (being nosy) if there are any other T/S, advanced ET guys on the site??

I joined to gather info for a procharged LSX project that we ended up not doing.
Still running a BBC & N2O, and a 25.1E, 6.00 legal car.
What class, series, combination are you running??

Do us dragster guys count? Just have a 468bbc for now with a toilet. Runs 4.90s, building a blower motor for next year. Looking to go 4.30s-4.40s in TD 1/8th mile of course.

Close enough plus T/S & T/D are sister class'.
I was going to add a pro-charger this winter myself, but my car would have needed major work to make it all fit.
They would have to cut off a bunch of the front chassis, and move stuff around because I have a 2 gal cell and a dry sump.
Besides that, I don't race enough to justify $25,000 to run a little quicker.

Is T/D big in that area. It's pretty dead around here, very little interest for some reason??
Hell, we can hardly get any attention and we have a bunch of 6 second guys in our group!!

Not gonna see alot of t/s or t/d action in this forum... I'm a MWTS member for last 1.5 years, I'm sure you know of them by where you're at. Why don't you race?

Only a few 6 sec cars consistently run with our group and we have a great organization going now finally. We are trying to get together with a bunch of t/d guys, OMSS, and Super Comp to get a big show going so we can have better leverage with the tracks. Joliet was a huge f'n joke this season, don't care if I ever race there again.

To be honest, I had several family issues, and I have not been racing other then testing once in a while.
I even missed several years, where I never even made it out once.
I was one of the 1st members/participants that wanted to be in the group and had planned to race the full schedule.
Chris was one of the nicest guys you ever met, and he used to check on me, and ask about my wife & kids all the time.
When he died, I did not get along with the guy that took over, and tried to take all the credit for the group.
So I never have made an actual event, even though I have a T/S car sitting in the shop.

I would love to make the full schedule, and I still talk to many of the members regularly.
We'll see how this winter goes, and I have already started ordering some new goodies for next season!!

Which team/car are you on, or drive??
I've been to a couple of the RT 66 races this year, I probably saw your team out there??

Have you heard the RT 66 rumors already about next year??

I own/drive the multicolored C5 body style n/a Corvette... and definitely not the Gangster.

Haven't heard much of any rumors about 66, and honestly don't care much. The operator(Charlie Lindsey not to mention any names) made a judgement call(track prep with water seepage that was worked on right before they sent us) that could have cost me my car and life last season and unless someone/something changes I probably won't be there much. MWTS Assoc. is not planning much for 66 in the future. It is truly sad for this to be the situation as it is a world-class facility, but with ISC owning it it is destined for failure.

That's the rumor I heard, but that the track wasn't that into T/S anymore,
and they will either cut way back or cancel the class???

So if you are E.V., you won a race this year IIRC???
I love your car, I have always preferred those to the earlier models.
I looked everywhere for one when I bought my car, but they were all too small for me (6'2") or too expensive.
I'm sure I'll see you out there, good luck.

never hit the advanced ET mark...but got pretty close

7.72 @ 188 on a lazy back-half tuneup and a 7.74 @ 189 on an agressive tuneup which I had to pedal out of a power wheelie

Everyone is included, no matter what their exact ET.
Just wondering if there was anyone else with similar combinations, that know what we go through to keep these things running.

you got it...

I did win at Earlville this season, and had a few semi-final appearances.
The Vette has been a good car, just needs a bit more hp(who don't). It is for sale as I am already putting together a complete new car for next season.
The C5 body style is tough for taller guys, but the seat configuration depicts alot of that.

I like to sit straight up, and most are laid back too much for me to be comfortable.
I'm adding a 2nd stage myself, but I'm way underpowered.
I need 2 kits just to be average.
I was going to put the better motor together, but I don't race enough to justify new scoop, new headers, new plumbing, etc etc.
Plus I have a bunch of stuff expiring this winter, so I will have my hands full getting everything freshened & upgraded in time already, plus a new combination is too much.

So is the new toy a secret, something unusual, new combination??

no secrets...most everybody knows about it but seeing is believing as most say. It's a carbon 05 GTO body and new billet aluminum 585 with a F3 and EFI methanol through a LencoDrive. should be a good ride but during the warm months it will be tamed down to be safe on hot tracks. no need to run mid 6s all the time to race top sportsman, especially considering all but one race this year was won by 7.50-7.80 cars.

the vette has to go if you know anybody looking... it will be on RJ here soon. I'm gonna complete freshen the engine and sell it either rolling or turn key. I'm way out of space here and something has to give!

Whatever business you're in/own must doing doing great, that a big project!! Congratulations on the new toy!!!

I was in the process of doing a 582" F-3 on ethanol for my junk, but it was too much work & more money then I realized.
I wanted to be able to change pulleys when the tracks were slick & greasy.
Plus anything to stop dealing with these damn bottles.
I hate trying to get everything the same run to run??
I knew the car would need a new cell and some misc work, but damn, it was too big of a project, too much work this winter I already committed to.

Yes, I did notice who won all the races this year, there were several very hot W/E's this year.

Good luck, and I'll be at RT 66 if they even have any races this year?? see you out there.
