Default M6 C6 in the 9's!

My car is a 2008 corvette with a LS2 402 with 317 heads. 12 pounds of boost through a novi 1500 and 814rwhp.

I'm sure there have been a few that have gone faster, but nobody has posted it that I know of in a C6(non Z06, ZR1). My car has 100% stock C6 driveline, no upgrades(minus the Mcleod RXT clutch). Still has the stock differential, gears, axles, tranny, gears, etc and the exact way I run the car daily on the streets in Houston. I run it on full radials front and back, with no skinnies or weight reduction. Official race weight is 3565 with my roll cage. I just looked over my time slips, and have 16 passes in the car, and 7 with the blower and 402. All passes made during test n tunes with no track rentals, etc.

Congrats on the time 9's is no easy task. But one quick question, In your OP it says you put down 814 whp. what power where you making during these runs? I figure a trap speed of 143 is the ball park range of 650ish whp.

Thanks! They are 295/35-17 MT radials on Fbody wheels.

Nope. Not in a vette with a small motor. Maybe a 427-440ci can get around 140mph with 700rwhp, with slicks, skinnies and a race weight of 200 pounds less than mine. I am about 100 pounds heavier than a stock vette with my rollcage and tire setup. Add in a Z06, and I'm even heavier. With just a blower at 10psi and no mods(not even exhaust, cam) etc, I ran 10.5@135-136mph.

My race weight is heavy for a vette. I'm also out of my powerband when I cross the traps with my tire. Also, DA was higher than it was tonight. The car should run 145mph the way it sits with a zero DA if I hit the shifts perfect. If I were on a 26 inch tire, then it would probably have a mph in the 148 range. I only have 6-7 passes in the car the way it sits.

Yes, had an LS3 motor in it from the factory when I ran 10.5's with just the blower.

Put a 402 LS2 stroker in it now with exhaust, cam, etc. I have no need to up the cubes on daily driven car with boost. My little blower is more than maxed out at 12psi, but it does the job. I have a YSI kit here too. The bigger blower will go on, and my bottle is already installed. Just needs to be tuned.

If I could go back, I would have a slightly lower compression 370 in the car so I could really up the boost.

Here is my car on the stock LS3 with just the blower+mufflers(stock exhaust, cam, headers).

freaking sick man.. 10.5 on stock drive train and just a blower really respectable. I couldn't do that on my 06... sold my street bike and was about to buy the A&A kit but 2ngear snycro went out the last time I was gonna drag the car before I bought the kit. I ended up buying the rpm lvl 5 tranny so I'll never have to worry about this again. Impressive numbers for a c6 full weight no drive train upgrades. Get the ccw drag pack and you'll get closer to the mid 9z. I highly recommend strengthen the diff at least.. Those cost about as much as the transmission and if they break they sometimes take the tranny with it.. Hate to see you out a few thousand $. Just my .2

LOL, thanks guys. MPG is down on 28 inch drag radials, and I run them at 20psi on the street. I like the setup so that I can always in kill mode if I need to be. I haven't checked since the last time I had the LS3 in it. After I made mid 10 second passes, I had an LS9 cam installed in the car. It was installed incorrectly and I don't want to go in to it. Anyways, with the LS9 cam and headers at 672rwhp, I made Houston to Dallas and back in 1 tank of gas, with a tiny bit to spare. When I filled it up, my MPG on the highway cruise was right at 28. This was with cruise control on at 76mph and street tires.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. I have had my trial and errors with rearend. I went through 3 in my Z06 2 years ago. A stock one, then a built RPM one, and then another one and the gears started to whine. Breaking sucks, I know all to well about it. For now, I'll leave it stock and I'm done racing until I tune the nitrous, or add the YSI on the car.

Here I am going home on a flatbed. It happened more than once in the old car.

We have quite a few in Houston too that run with us. Underground Racing is sponsoring a racing event in 3 months and I am registered for. I'll have a crack at a bunch of them. I'll have a the car turned up to trap around 150, but it won't be enough. It will be fun though.
