I finally am getting the money to get me some new heads for my engine, and was wondering if you guys might have a guess as to how much I will pick up in the 1/8th. My current combo is a 355 with 10 to 1 old fuelie heads, a comp magnum 292 wiend stealth intake and 750 edelbrock. The new combo will be the same shortblock with 195 afr's victor jr. 750hp holley, and 1 3/4 fenderwell headers. My old best was 8.12 in the 1/8th. So what are your guesses?

If you have a decent converter and it hooks, i say 7.60s. I went from 12.50s to 11.60 1/4 from bowl ported 461s to afr 220s that i bought bare and ported myself, i am sure they didnt flow as well as they do from afr.

I think that it will hook this was the first time to the track and on the 8.12 pass it cut a 1.77 60ft. I need to play with the preload on the slide-a-links. It has a 3200 stall.

Got the AFR 195's on and all I can say is wow. It made a huge difference. I also added the 750 hp Holley and victor jr intake. I am very impressed and I will post my new 1/8th times on saturday night when I get home.

ok so i wasnt as good as I expected. It went 8.0 at 87mph. I dont understand it. Seat of the pants feels much stronger. My 60ft did go down. I think that I may need a different convertor and gears now. It feels a little sluggish off the line. Any advise? I mean the afr heads should demolish the old fuelies that I had.

if your running the same cam with bigger heads thats your problem. i did the same thing. went from vortecs just bowl ported (prof.) to brodix track 1's and picked up a tenth in the 1/8. put a better matched cam for those heads and that thing will fly. but with the better cam and bigger heads you most likely with need a bigger stall
