Default I hate this car!! 91 RS with issues

I've been working on a 91 RS 305 Camaro for my brother and at first the car was just not running right and before i could get it running good the stupid thing decided to break something else and i can't figure it out.

I'm pretty sure it's a wiring issue since about 90% of the time it wont even try to crank and some times it starts rite up.

An heres the kicker, last night when i was checking wiring last night i checked the thick yellow wiring under the dash ( i've been told to check this by alot of third gen guys) and it had power, i checked the wiring to the Neutral safety switch and had power.. So just to double check everything i just did i tried to check everything again and no power to any of it?!?!?! WTF is wrong with this stupid a$$ car.. I'm about to tell my brother we just need to sell everything off this car and start from scrath with a LSx swap and a custom wirring kit..

Any one have any ideas what could be cause this?!?!? VATS?!?!?!

Sounds like VATS to me, have it removed if you cannot do it yourself.

when it happened to my 91 RS, i used the excuse to get a Carbed 350 crate motor and not use the computer at all i ran new power wire, moved battery to the trunk, ran all new wires for lights and everything i needed. and never had a problem with it again

Begin with your starter wiring

http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...nE_starter.jpg

If you have a VATS issue, the dash light for it will come on

No start via key sounds like VATS, starter relay(More VATS), bad starter solenoid, blown fusible link for the dash main power

EFI is the current and future technology. Dont waste your time and effort on 100 year old technology

Install an open element on the TBI and youll never know the difference

Debatable, but it still wont help the OP if the issue is VATS or a broken connection in the starting circuit

Well, the manual way to make it work is a starter switch and as long as the distributor gets power, it wont matter.
