Man, sounds kinda mild. Guess it really is with oval ports. Has to be a torque monster.

Flat tappet or roller?

Have any other build pics, tell us about cutting the cowl for this engine. Thanks, I'm getting ready to tackle this same thing.

You did a great job,it looks like it came in there. No one realizes how much work that takes. As for the oval port heads,John Lingenfelter liked them better than rectangular for every thing but all out race motors. The car looks good...Ernie

How tall is the whole setup? I just ran into this problem yesterday. I'm hoping the thinner element will help correct the height issue. I also need to get a flange spacer to sit on the carb to bring the whole setup up.

How much clearance do you have b/w the hood and the wing nut?

Thanks,

~Jim~

Is there a set of headers that can be bolted on to use? Or is everything custom in that area?

I have heard of people using a hooker header from a 60's or 70's muscle car and banging in a couple of tubes. I didn't want that so I ordered them from Lemons.

Ah ok. I just checked out Lemons Headers. There pricey but well worth it for the engine size in a f body. If going for around 700hp, what size primaries would be needed?
