Default hood?

im putting a carbed 1st gen sbc in a 93 camaro. i was wanting to use the vfn sunoco wide hood bolt on. but after looking at it, it has a support that runs underneath the cowl. its right where the carb is goin to be. i was just wondering what people are doing about this or what hood people are using. i really need a tilt hood not a pin on. im using a spectre carb hat.

It makes the hood a hair "looser" or flimsy.

I cut the entire cross piece out and I'm not really having any trouble.

The only thing I can see being an issue so far is the large opening being quite accessible to water. Especially when you are washing the car (runoff from the windshield)

Not sure what sort of intake you are running but I have a really high setup and I got it to fit underneath a 3 inch cowl. Check my sig for pics.

Good luck,

~Jim~
