Recently got an 87 TPI 350 cylinder head to 260 degrees in a Corvette,taking them off soon to bring to a machine shop.Thes are aluminum on a cast iron block,what could have caused this besides the obvious?put a system pressurizer on the cooling system and you can hear air spewing in the intake or head area.can only be WP,hoses,flush,electric fans right?Any input?

It could have been a number for things like you stated. You could have been just low on coolant and just didn't know it. Most likely those heads are cracked from the heat and you are going to need some new ones.

cracked or warped?if they are not warped too bad they can be decked.

Yes they can be milled but a corvette L98 head is a 58cc chamber which is kinda small already so milling them will bump the compression up. Pull them off and get them checked. If they're gone just get some aftermarket heads and a cam and do it up!
