Default sbc crank ? please help!!!!

here's the deal I've got an 86 350 block and an 01 vortec 350 crank will they work together?and if not can i make them work together and if so what do i have to do? thanks for any help!

Most likely that 86 block is a 2 piece seal and the 01 vortec is a 1 piece crank so they won't go together just like that. The adapters that are sold by Jegs and Summit are to the opposite of what you are doing.

88-2002 are interchangeable as far as design, im not sure if the vortec has a reluctor wheel or what not.

now, one other question. the 01 vortec, is it a SBC design or the LS design?

I didn't even pay attention, when I posted, about the 01 vortec. An 01 vortec is a 5.3 truck motor. The last SBC gen 1 I remember was the Tahoe limited and that went thru the 2000 year. They were all black and came with different wheels than the regular tahoes of the 96 thru 99 years. The reluctor wheel on the old sbc gen 1 vortec was on the snout of the crank that just slid on and off inside of the plastic timing cover. If I remember right it was only a 4x reluctor wheel.
