Default hmm..how bout a 434 fuel injected into a 4th gen?

Little bored and doing some quick research. I didn't realize the small block strokers were getting so reasonable in price.

looks like you can get a ohio crank built 434 for about 4k(
motown block (requires small base circle cam)
Ohio Crankshaft 4-inch crank
JE Pistons
6-inch H-beam rods
Total seal rings
Federal Mogul race bearings
Splayed caps add $300

so thought about maybe some AFR 235 heads, a vic e with efi and a 4150 throttle body all run from the LS1 pcm with the coils per cylinder mounted on the valve covers.

That would be interesting to open the hood and people would go, it's an lt1, no, it's an ls1 no...it's a 434 sbc

I'm sure there are better ways to make power, but it looks like everything I'm seeing a 550rwhp build isn't that crazy. plus to be able to drive it on the street with the t-56 behind it and my 411 gears, would be fun

anyone see something like this or do something like this?

To run an LS1 pcm you will need a 24x reluctor wheel where are you going to get that signal from? The only way I see running an LS1 pcm is going with EFIconnection's system that uses a 96-98 vortec style truck distributor to get the cam signal and they have a reluctor that is 24x that goes in place of the 4x sensor in the vortec truck L31 motors.

The L31 uses a step nose cam with a retainer plate to hold the cam in with the roller setup. I am assuming this set-up you are talking about uses a cam button instead. With the efi connection set-up you have to use the plastic timing chain cover with the crank sensor in it and thats not going to work with a cam button.

i was thinking about the efi 24x setup to pull of the ls1 pcm. I have it on my 96 lt1. i know the sbc setup is different, haven't gotten that far yet. My efi 24x setup on my lt1, all the components are in the front because of the opti. I can always send an email to Mike and see what he says.

will keep on researching...

So you are going to try to put an lt1 front cover on a 2-piece style block so you can use the opti for cam signal and crank?

You still have the cam retainer plate issue and if you are still using the lt1 water pump you would have to fit that drive system in there unless you already went electric.

no, the lt1 stuff wouldn't go on a sbc obviously. I would use the PCM and use some thing like what they did here for the traditional sbc http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/df...olled-gen.html

Ok, cool I didn't know they started making a billet front cover with the 24x reluctor built-in. When I first saw EFIconnection come out they were only offering the plastic vortec cover.

Should be badass when all said and done. I will have to mention this to my cousin for his 92 z28 to get it off the old chip style pcm.
