Default Need advise: lt1 t56 bolted to sbc

I just bought a all original numbers matching 67 camaro and I'd like to change out the 3 speed for a 6speed. And I don't want to take the original 327 out the car.
Questions:
1- can I use a t56 from a lt1?
2- if so if is it a direct bolt in or do I need a conversion kit?
3- what's all involved?
4- what parts would I need?

ats makes a bolt in kit for t56 into a first gen. this covers your pedals, master cylinder mount & transmission crossmember. as for a flywheel you will have to run a centerforce 153 tooth conversion flywheel if you have a early two piece rear main sbc. other than what v8sten listed it will all bolt in. i installed one behind my 422 sbc in my 72 Camaro and damn is it fun to drive. but its hell on drivetrain parts with the solid motor mounts and solid disc spec stg 5 clutch

This is what I used, but I had a T56 from a LS2. It was a piece of cake.

1: Yes
2: If your block is 1pc rear main you can use the LT1 flywheel/clutch set up, If 2pc rear main need a new flywheel.
3:Some people say you have to cut the tunnel some say you don't, every car is different.
4: Tranny, Flywheel/clutch, Hydraulics, new driveshaft made, buy or make a crossmember, speedo it the biggest cost(you can get the stock gauge to work), some wiring(reverse lockout, backup lights)

Check out these guys for parts. http://www.speedtechperformance.com/...=cat/cat30.htm

If you want a billet aluminum flywheel, RAM makes one that will work for that build. I believe its part #2555

Pretty straight forward swap if you get the custom 2 piece seal flywheel. Other wise you need LT1 specific clutch stuff.
