i looked into the kit a little more it said I beam or H beam rods so im guessing i get to choose. rod and main bearings from king, federal mogul, or clevite 77 and pistons are from SRP/JE, Ross, KB, Mahle, Diamond or Probe. if anyone has ordered a kit like this do you get to choose which one you get? If so which ones should i get? im going to make a call asap to make sure i get the best out of this kit since im stuck with it now. Thanks for any help anyone can give me, this isn't the route i wanted to take after the information i got and after seeing v8stens stuff in action definitely proof he knows what he is doing. thanks guys for all of the knowledge i can get. i know there is a lot of variables that can change this, but i with a good set of heads whats a ball park figure as to what i can get as far as hp out of this motor? also how much nitrous should i run through this motor?

also heads i checked out the scoggin/dickey vortec center bolt iron heads and they are fairly cheap, but for couple hundred more i can get a set of aftermarket aluminum heads, possibly even find a good deal at the gm nationals this weekend. if i don't find any aluminum heads this weekend, whats the better choice especially when using nitrous? does the material of the heads matter when using nitrous?

she should of got an email confirmation on what she ordered (post that up so we can know what she ordered). there will be a price difference between the selection of parts i.e King bearings will be cheaper than Clevite, SRP pistons will be cheaper than JE and so on. on the heads you would be fine with vortec cylinder heads as long as you port the f%*k out of them, and increase the valve size. but by the time you do that you could of bought some CNC alum heads and came out better. when you price things out you have to take into consideration of the long term cost (what its going to cost you total to have a running product). your best bet is to find some used heads to keep the cost down. If you want new look into the Dart SHP heads like these....

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dr...make/chevrolet

you should be able to make some good power with these, double check on the valve springs though to make sure that they would be able to handle a good sized cam.

I got my girl to cancel the order for the other kit, I am looking into this kit. it has a nodular crank which I know will be better, it also has a damper, all the bearing and a flex plate. let me know if this will be a better choice. the show got rained for Saturday so now im going around 9 in the morning to try and find something good, hopefully the show wont be a total bust because of the rain.

thanks I will give them a call and see what I can do, I figured the extra money will be worth it. it will probably be a week or two before I order it. also a few weeks ago I ordered a fuel pump to get my 350 running its a High Output Fuel Flow,150 GPH at 6 PSI is that going to be enough for my set up? the tank in my car is rusted so I need to get a new tank so im going with a fuel cell. should I be running an electric pump like a holley black or can I get away with what I have? also with the nitrous how does it work as far as getting fuel for the wet shot? do I run I separate fuel pump just to get fuel for the nitrous?

im not sure if ive asked this as I have a million things going on with this car at one time but, the car currently still has a points distributor. i really do like the insurance of having a rev limiter and i since i need to upgrade from the points distributor is this a good investment?

Ditch the points! Bearing selection I'd go with the Kings. The clevite QC isn't the greatest since mahle bought them out. I just sent a set of rod bearings back because they looked like **** right out of the package. Also the king bearings have a little bit different Babbitt material that some engine builders are starting to favor.

whats the best holley 750 carb to use, im thinking I shouldn't be cheap on a carb since that could make a big difference on reliability and power this motor could make.

also looking at headers 1 5/8 is that going to be good or should I be getting bigger ones? when I had my ls1 I was always told to go with I think it was 3/4 or 7/8 that's why im asking especially since ive never had a nitrous motor I want to squeeze as much power out of this as I can.

so ive been reading a few other forums and im reading that these are some of the best carbs out there. I can get custom one or im looking into the one I will post the link below, but the smallest is a 780 if I went this route would it be to much? and would it be worth it? I've read about people picking up .4 faster in the 1/4 switching to there carbs.

yup but i wish i would of seen the post about the ign before you ordered it. that street fire stuff is no good for what you want. you need a minimum of a digital 6 box. it has timing controls, so you can cruise around with full timing and it run fine then when you spray it, it will pull the timing out you need at that time.

Can I get a 6al box and it work with the rest of the stuff I got? Also I found a cold fusion wet 4150 plate kit, with bottle warmer and purge solenoid, all the lines, wiring, bottle, and jets up to 250 it's used guy wants $275. It's about a 2hr drive from me, I know I'm a little ways from worrying about nitrous but is that a really good deal that I should jump on it or wait and just get a new kit when I'm ready?

The kit has jets from 100-250, I wouldn't just throw a 250 shot at it not knowing much about nitrous
