Default Fuel pump for 600+ horsepower

My dad is running a 140 gph Holley black pump and the fuel pressure drops when he's on the throttle. The car has 1/2 inch fuel line and 3/8ths return line. I thought is was the voltage to the pump because he is using an underdriven pulley for the alternator. When at higher RPM's the voltage is up and pressure is down. Now I'm thinking it's a defective pump. What pump will support his fuel demands?

Get a mechanical from cv products if it works on a 800 HP winston cup engine it will work on your 600 Hp engine.I could never understand why every one go,s wright for the electric fuel pump. and then gets rid of the mechanical one.

I've got an electrical and mechanical pump on mine (carter 8 psi versions front and back-largest ones you can run without a regulator needed). Car holds 6-3/4 pressure on motor (about 475-500 ponies) and 6-1/4 pressure on the bottle (600-625 hp).

I heard there is a pressure relief valve on the pump that is suppose to be plugged when running a by-pass regulator. There is a spring holding a plunger down that relieves the pressure. I think were going to replace the spring with a rod so pressure is relieved.
