Vortec CSFI Metering Body and Poppet Valves
I'm replacing my CSFI metering body, poppet valves, and hoses this weekend on my 5.7 Vortec in my 1998 Tahoe, and I was wondering if anyone here has done this? Any tips and/or advice would be appreciated. I have worked on motors most of my life, but just never a Gen 1 Vortec. Also replacing the fuel pump as well.
It seems to be a pretty easy and straightforward R&R, but it never hurts to ask.

Pretty easy just get the plenum off and replace the whole spider unit.
FYI there is a upgrade for the injectors that are far better than the stock one. They are avalibe from GM
Check out fullsizechevy.com there are many there that have done this.

Yeah, basically that's what I was getting at was whether the poppet valves could be removed by just removing the upper(plastic) plenum. So i guess yes. I already have all the fuel disconnect tools, but thanks.
I'm going to remove and clean the EGR as well.
