What do you think this will run 1/4 mile
I have a 1977 gmc sierra long bed race weight of 4100 with me in it. I just bought a Gm performance crate engine. It has 300 horsepower stock. Over stock I put a 750 carb, Performer Rpm Intake, big tube long tube headers, X pipe, hei dist and electric fans. I think it is putting anywhere from 230-250 rwhp, 315-330 crank. It has 4.10 posi 26" drag tires, with a Th350 trans w/ a 2800 stall. with the old motor and 3.40 gears and no stall converter I ran a 15.74 @ 85.25 mph. The old motor only had 198 rwhp, About 245 crank. Let me know what you all think, Thanks, Jared

what size are the primaries on those big tube headers? with that small of a motor, and that heavy of a truck, i would hope they're the 1 5/8". you need torque for that pig! lol. especially with the gearing you've got to take advantage of it. also, i hope your exhaust system is a cat free dual 2". the X is great though, good mufflers i'm guessing too?

Well I have no cats no mufflers, 2-1/2'' true dual. Headers are 1-5/8''. Well I have raced an LT1 and a 2001 mustang GT and beat both of them so I am guessing 14.20-14.50. I beat the mustang by about 4-5 car lengths, and the camaro LT1 by about 2 lengths.

Yea, 1 5/8" primaries are ideal for that set up, you need every bit of torque you can make to help get that beast moving. I would'nt consider them "big tubes" though. If you ever wanna muffle it down and maintain power I recommend a pair of magnaflows or dynamax ultraflows.
