Hello first time poster, been visiting here for about 6 months. I want to build up a 383 SBC gen 1, all forged, AFR 195 heads, and I'm thinking 242 roller cam for my 80 Chevy C-10 shortbed. I'm guessing around 500hp if not a little more. I want to keep the budget below 6K. Need to rebuild the TH400 and get a Fuddle. I would like some recommendations of some engine builders. I went through some of the sponsor's links and did a couple of searches but everything was mostly LS1 stuff. Oh well, it's an LS1 forum lol. I would like to build the engine myself but using places like Summit for parts and what not it seems cheaper to have someone build it for you. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
