Default Holley Blue Electric Fuel Pump

I started the BBC up today since it was nice outside. Its the first time I've ran the Holley fuel pump. I'd used a different one when I mocked everything up just to get a test fire.

My question is does anyone have one and is it real loud for you too. I do have my interior out of the car right now so that may be part of it. Its mounted at the back of the car. I can't hear it once I fire up the engine, but when I turn the pump on before I start the car its just to loud for me. Its just a little annoying. Is there anything I could do like put a thicker rubber washer in between it and the car or do I just have to deal with it.

It's been many years, but I do remember when I was running 12's I had dual blues, they were loud. It was the electric motor, not the vibration.

It is the design of the pump, they are a vane style pump. If you would like a quieter pump look at a Gerotor design. I have used several Mallory pumps that are quiet and are rebuildable. The electric motors weigh about twice as much as a Holly too. My freind has had one in his 68' GTO for about 13 years, he hasn't even had to rebuild it yet.

I guess I'll have to live with it for a while. It can only hear it for a few seconds before I start the engine.

Thanks for the input. When I need to change it I'll get a better one, possibly one that you've mentioned.
