Default 383 HP est. please

I am in the process of building a 383 stroker. My plans are 906 vortecs with a bowl blend and stainless valves, either a lunati bracket master II cam 292* adv duration .480 lift or a lunati streetmaster cam with 285* adv. duration and .507 lift, lunati springs and lifters, stock rockers, cast rotating assembly, with hypereutectic pistons approx. 10-1 comp, edelbrock performer rpm, 750 holley dbl. pumper, mallory HEI dist and a hyfire VI-A ignition box, all through hedman 1 5/8 long tubes with duals and 3'' dyno max bullets. Is 400fwhp too optimistic?

I think 400fwhp should be pretty easy. I'm currently building a very similar 383......10.4:1 comp, 906 vortecs w/beehive springs, hyd roller 230/236 cam (.544/.555 lift), rpm air gap intake, 750 carb, 1 5/8 longtubes. I'm shooting for 450ish fwhp and 475ish fwtq......I think I'll get fairly close based on dyno sheets I've seen from similar combos.

I am also considering a comp xe284 with comp double valve springs. Which would be the best cam to try to break in to the 12's all motor

What is this engine going in? Breaking into the 12s isnt that hard especially with the parts list you put up. My s10 ran a 12.7 on street tires BEFORE the cam and stall in my sig. It is a whole new animal now. Shooting for 11.9 with a tire. You should reach your goal no problem.

It should make abotu 380-400 hp,
but no more than that with those heads.

LAter if you upgraded to some larger heads and a Victor Jr,, you could see 470 - 480hp. Maybe some DART Iron Eagles, they are good head for the money.

That Lunait Bracket Master II is a great CAm, I had one in my car in High school!!!
loved it,

Check this link out as this engine with AFR's we built made 501 on the torque and 455 horse and the same engine with a well prepared set of Vortecs 906 casting made 496 on the torque and 449 horse. And both are daily drivers in the summer.

i'd go with a solid cam and something close to a 300 degree duration and around a .550 lift for int. and ex. that and LTs you'll make about 480 to the wheels w/o NOS. you'll just have to keep up with adjusting the valves daily. or if you want a close to maintainance free motor... get a regualr cam with pushing a .600 lift and about a 230 duration.
