Default What is the deck clearance? Need for cr calculation!

Hi,

I try to caclulate the static and the dynamic compression of my new engine combo I want to built up.

I try it with this calculator, but I cannot fill out every field:

http://kb-silvolite.com/calc.php?action=comp

Therefore I have some questions!

I want to use this cam:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?...

This heads:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?...

64cc
And this pistons:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
5cc

How much is my Deck Clearance? Can I calulate it, or do I have to built up my engine to mesure it?

What is the Intake closing point @ 0.050 lift?

In the cam spec. is only the intake opening at @0.006.

Cylinder Head Volume (cc) 64 Cylinder Head Vol (cubic in.) 03.904

Piston Head Volume (cc) 5 Piston Head Vol (cubic in.) 00.305

Gasket Thickness (in.) 0,039 Swept Volume (cubic in.) 43.731

Gasket Bore (in.) T.D.C. Volume (cubic in.) 04.586

Cylinder Bore Diameter (in.) 4,03 Gasket Volume(cubic in.) 00.000

Deck Clearance (in.) ?????? Deck Volume (cubic in.) ?????

Stroke (in.) 3,48

STATIC COMPRESSION RATIO 10.536

OPTIONAL DATA

Rod Length (in.) 5,7 Adjusted Stroke (in.)

Intake Closing Point (degrees) ??????????

ABDC @ 0.050 lift plus 15 degrees

DYNAMIC EFFECTIVE COMPRESSION RATIO ????

Can somebody help me?

What do you think about this combination?

Do you think that my valves might touch my pistons?

Thanks!

deck clearance is the distance from the piston quench area to the block deck.
it has to be measured there are no guesses or typical numbers.

Do you know the history of your block? Stock deck? Decked? Stock deck is 9.025" leaving the piston .025" in the hole. Most are close to 9.025" some variation .001-.002" most of the time. If you have the shortblock assembled you can use a dial indicator to check how far the piston is in the hole.
