Ok guys i just picked up a 86 ls monte carlo. I have a 88 2 bolt stroker currently in my 72 caprice & i have a 4 bolt main stock 350 out of a 86 suburban. I was thinking take the stroker, but than i was like why when i got a 4 bolt on a stand ready to play with. my question is are those 80s 4 bolts worth building? my ultimate goal is to make a high 11 sec car.
Also here is this guy around my town thats got a 74 impala thats got
a 355 with some good brodix alum heads dont know what size the cam is but i do know he has a 250 - 300 shot and think it runs on 93 i think its got some 411s in the rear too. i would like to be able to take this guy in the monte.
let me know your thought on what its goin to take. btw that thing is like
4200 lbs

Get yourself a 6.2L block or Ls2 block and build the **** out of it. I love the 80's SS monte. There is a guy on the boards that has a 7.0 L in his monte. I was sending him a 85MM Maf for that beast untill someone inside Fedex did the old 5 finger discount and walked off with his/ my maf.. Ferocity or Verocity i think is his name. I am sure he can give you some solid advice! good luck on your project

Build the 4 bolt.
Put some AFR heads (like these http://competitionproducts.com/prodi...number=AFR1054)
on it, single plane Victor junior.
