Default Wtf??? 267?

Got a motor from my buddy. Told me it was a 350. pulled the heads off to find some pistons. so i figured it was a 305... i looked up the #s on mortec and come to find out it's a 267 2 bolt main from 79-82. i've never heard of it.

If anyone has info on this motor, please let reply in post.
Thank you in advance.

If you ever come across a 94-96 4.3L V8 they are gutless as well, I want the crank out of one to build a roller 302 setup.

just out of curiosity, what would a set of heads go for scrap purposes? ballpark figure. The reason i ask is i just tore down a 90s model tbi engine just to use the block on. I chunked the heads, pistons and rods, and flexplate into the scrap metal bin at work. The local scrapper comes and picks it all up. We just give it to them. Its still there so if they are worth anything i may go dumpster diving.haha

Well, thing is those TBI heads are the "light" design, even though its not a huge diff over older castings here is a example of what scrap brings parts wise:

I took, 3 blocks (V8s)
3 sets of heads
1 set of pistons and rods
2 cranks
1 4speed trans
1 differential

Grand talley, 70$.

Not worth gas to take heads

that's what my buddy is trying to convince to do. high boost low compression motor. i really don't have the money to build a blown engine right now. i got the motor thinking it was a 350 and i was going to slap my T1 heads and top combo from my 383 that i blew up on it and put a nice hydr. cam for a fairly quick street car.

I tried looking for an article that this guy did a twin turbo 283 and ended up with 800Hp and had no luck. I am not sure what the specs are with the 267 but if the stroke is bigger than a 283 (3") it would have to have smaller pistons than my kids dirt bike which would not be an overly great motor for building HP with since you would be limited right off the bat with indescent valve sizes to get some good flow.

the stroke is the same as in 350 ( 3.48 ) and the bore size is 3.500" thus in 267
