Emission testing in Mooresville, NC
Thinking about moving to Mooresville, NC. Wondering if I'm going to have any problems getting my '01 SS to pass the emissions test. No check engine light, not reading any codes so I think it'll do ok on the OBD II scan. I'm more worried about the visual. I have an STS turbo and the original cats. Crankcase is venting through breathers without a PCV valve. Planning on installing a catch can and a PCV valve just to be safe before moving so hopefully this shouldn't be an issue.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Bought the car when I was living in CA so it was nice moving to states without any kind of testing. Kinda depressing having to deal with smog checks again.

You should be fine. As long as you have cats, it shouldn't be an issue. If it is, just ask around (on here, or a local friend) for a place that will overlook the visual inspection. Emissions testing here is done by scan tool only (no sniffer).

ok thanks for the info, sounds like it shouldn't be too bad. they'll probably make me lighten up the tint on the back but if it's nothing more than that, should be ok.
