these motors will handle alot.... just keep that oil level checked.... but a good set of tires and 3.73 gears and a stall will put u in mid/low 7's and a 100 shot will get u 6's easy

3.73's with a T/A Girdle and install kit. A shop should charge you about $250-$300 to install. At least a 224/224 cam, at least an LS6 Intake, Ported stock throttle body, Headers, y-pipe, cat back exhaust or cut-out, NX or Nitrous Outlet plate kit with 150 shot and a good tune. Should be touching 6's. Change out the TCI converter and install a Yank 3600, and a set of aftermarket 5.3 heads, should run mid 6's. remove front sway bar, change out rear suspension, and add subframe connectors, put fats and skinnies on, should be in 6's all day.

If only running the 1/8th, you could use 4.10s and be even quicker in the 1/8th.

Hope this helps.

The TCI converter just isn't as efficient as the Yank. The two best companies to deal with for converters on LS cars are Yank and Vigilante (Precision Industries). The TCI will get you there, but you'll be missing out on some power available.

The rear end will eventually break. There is no telling how long it will last. I went through three rear ends very quickly before I finally stepped up to a 12 bolt. However, I know people who have been running with the 10 bolt for a few years hitting low 11's and high 10's in the 1/4 without problems. It will get you through for a while, but don't trust it.

Performabuilts and TCIs are both good. All the converters will get you out of the hole well. The STR has everything to do with that. However, the more power you make, the harder it is to find a converter that is efficient on the top end. Smacking the rev limiter during shifts and on the top end is easy to do when you have a converter that doesn't hold up to the power, or isn't efficient on the top end. I've had and seen worn out converters cause low ten second cars to run high tens and even low elevens because they just couldn't handle the load. Typically, you will find the highest horse power and the quicker cars running Yank. Just my .02

Blue thunder has the only posts in this thread that have useful info in them without anything misleading. Only thing I would like to add is that PTC makes amazing converters.
I am not a huge follow of Yank myself. I prefer PTC/Vig/Yank, in that order... Everyone has their preference and their reasons why.

As for a quick way to get 6s.. You should be high 7s right now. A 150 hit should get you there solidly.

EDIT::: Didn't see all your mods. You only run an 8.2 right now, you have some work to do first.

Best advice for you OP... Start reading. Not just random *** threads like this with people that have never even made a mid 7 pass in the 1/8 or just have bolt on cars.

Go read the stickies.. If you run into something you are unsure of what they are talking about then go research that and come back to your research.
You read for a solid 2-3 hours for 7 days you will have a general idea of where you want to go. After that make a more solid post instead of "I'm completely lost and want to run 6s" with a general idea of where you want the car to go and how you want it to get there and with what budget. Post up in a section where the more advanced tech members post and see what ways they revise your plans.
You mod your car how someone else tells you to mod it I can almost guarantee you won't be happy with it. You might luck up and be happy with it for a while but 3 months down the road you will do some research and say, "DAMN IT, why didn't I go that route?"
