I'm in Charleston and basically tips on everything! lol
Heres the story.....
When I was 14 my dad brought home a 350 small block and he was carrying the pistons in a paper bag. He built the engine then he found a 73 LTZ....my first car. I wish I had paid more attention back then, that was a great opportunity to learn. Of course girls were more fun to look at! So now I have a 14yr old son and would like to be able to do something similar for him. Except this go around he is going to learn what I missed!
I have the complete engine minus the ecm and I will need a new wiring harness. Any idea what I could expect to pay for a used one? I know they used the LS1 in other vehicles...would those ecm's work?
Thanks

Also in Charleston. You should find a cheap LS1 to swap for lol. Just kidding. Manfred up there is good on mechanics, but watch out for that zap zap stuff haha. I kid, I can also attempt to provide some assistance on the electrical front (electrician), or some moral support and flashlight holding on the mechanical front. Just lemme know.

Thanks to both of you. I have been reading an article in this forum about the swap. It requires re-pinning of the harness which will allow me to keep all the electrical stuff from the 95. Seems pretty straight forward but we'll see. I have heard it can get expensive but I have so little in the car and engine I think I can swing it. As far as the engine goes the only things I need are the ecm, and a power steering reservoir and pulley, a few hoses and thats about it. I already have the harness (on its way) and the k frame. On the k frame I do need the steering assembly. Going to Don's car crusher this weekend for the quest!
What part of Charleston are you in turtle? I see manfred is in the creek.....and btw way if that is a pic of you....we have to meet! lol jk

I'm out on James Island, but I head up to North Chuck/GC regularly to hang out with Greg (manfred). I have no comment on how big his ***** are... lol. Just kidding.
But seriously, my car would be a broken piece if it wasn't for Greg's help.

I am also in Charleston. Check out Carolinahorsepower.com, we have a lot of locals and some fast LSx stuff. I also have a 6.0 iron block for sale that would make a good base for a motor swap. I even have an LS1 k-member so you won't need to fumble with motor mounts.
PM me if you are interested.
