hey i justed moved to the acworth/marietta area of georgia. Does anybody know of some car get togethers in the area, like maybe an autozone in the area ppl meet at friday nights something like that? I'm also trying to meet some car enthusiast such as myself in the area so if any of you live close by shoot me a message.

The Fbody gathering is really the only fbody event of substance in the Atlanta area anymore. Definitely don't miss that if you are into fbody stuff.

"crazyaxe08" ... a word of advice. Watch that window tint in Acworth. I was popped last year by Acworth Police in my Ford Lightning for $100.00. She (female officer) placed her "tint meter" on my window and everything ... it was soooo official. She was running radar into oncoming traffic from the gore across from Day's Chevrolet and actually pulled me over in heavy traffic strictly for window tint ... not speeding, not reckless driving, not racing, not smoking the tires, not loud exhaust, but window tint!!!!

thanks for the heads up. There seems to be a lot of cops around here. the f-body meet is at the marriott hotel in marietta starting may 29th

I have not had my SS south over the Cobb line, so I don't how receptive Acworth Police will be with my car. I have, although, removed the tint (gold reflective) installed by the previous owner .... I just didn't like it! Plain black tint would probably look great, but, I am really not planning to tint the windows back at all. Visual mods just don't seem to in the budget unless they are really cheap .... a rear end, rear suspension and drag wheels with slicks/skinnies/dr's (for the street) are my main concern right now.

I wish there was something closer north. I am setting mine up for mostly a drag car. Surely, there must be alot of fbodies around Cobb ... maybe something at Hooter's-Kennesaw ... ??

From what I've heard, but I'm not sure, that meet is usually full of ricers but YMMV.

Varsity meets are a mix of everything. You get imports, muscle, even some old classics once in a while. Just a grab bag of stuff. I'm there every month from April til October.

There's also a weekly meet on Fridays at the Starbucks in front of the mall on Barrett. Same deal, mix of everything.
