MAC that sucks man, I recently found that mine has the ol porous block issue, I need to pull the trans and seal up the rear cover to the back of the block.
I have been going back and forth with selling the Camaro and buying an old car but I know it would be hard since it's on 15x10's and 15x4 so most people see that as a problem, and I might just buy a trailer and trailer it to and from the track and toss a 150 shot at it till the LS1 goes.

i say take it to the track and run it until it goes. a lot of shops in your area can help you build a better engine.
i was wondering if something was wrong mac. my car with just bolt ons made more than that.

And Cody I found a couple LQ blocks around here I would probably just get machined and do a nice quick build and rebuild a 4l80e I was really wanting to build a turbo 408 but right now we have not built up enough retirement to warrant me building a 4 digit hp car. I have plenty of time, I at least want to get her into the low 10's or high 9's.
Also Mac get rid of those heads too man, they are severely holding back your setup and I am not trying to be a rude guy here just assisting from my experiences, heck the LS1 stock intake also sucks. I made 370 with my little tsp 228r cam and run 7.42 at 92.5 in the 1/8 and have outrun a mustang that does 12.05 and I had it by about 2 cars at the 1/4 yours should be a bit faster than mine and make into the 400 range.

just slowly build up the parts and when you have them all sell the stock stuff and put it all in. and you dont need a 4 digit powered car to run 9s, we have a 64 nova that runs 9s with a little over 600 hp. its all in the suspension and weight. and what stall did you run with that 228r? i am wanting to run around that with my car but i only have a 3100 stall so cams are very limited.
also it sucks to hear about the block. how fast does it leak?

Ah but it's not the rear main seal. It's the block itself, I have a brand new gm rear cover, brand new GM rear seal new gasket and it still drips oil from the rear cover. There is a TSB about the LS1 block actually being pourous and leaking behind the cover and the fix is to just use silicone around the whole rear cover.

It leaks pretty decently.
I was pissed after having bought all those nice shiny new parts and getting her back up and running. Such is life though right?
MAC no problem, I thought it was still rear main seal till I looked up at the seal and there is no fluid from there, it really looks to be coming from the cover itself.
Heck maybe once she's out here I will just pull the 4l60e and ls1 and get ready to sell it all off and do a quick lq4 and 4l80e build with a nice size cam and heads to match maybe some nitrous.

I am not sure, I will ask my buddy who lives up there. Supposedly the old track off 840 Nashville Motorspeedway I believe, is getting sold and the new owners plan to bring it back supposedly with a 1/4 mile track.
I would love to see a 1/4 mile track around here it seems like everyone like 1/8th mile.
