You hit hard for it to break the Axle on that angle of impact. More than likely the Chassis is twisted up a little bit for the front to be like that. They have probably said the same thing..
It sucks to see, cause it will never be the same, even if they replaced everything.

Well, if they throw in a warranty, I guess they stand behind the work. If they fix it, drive the **** out of it and check EVERYTHING!

Good luck regardless

Just looking at the pics, I don't see how they wouldn't total it. Hope everything works out for you. I have a truck and trailer if you need it trailered anywhere closeby.

the car is worth close to $14,000 Gs... i dont think there was enough damage involved to total it by that number...i figure new axle, rotors, suspension, 2-3 panels, valance, headlight, bumber, alignment, paint and a few other minor things....my guess is between $8000-$9000 grand...the MAIN thing is how is it gonna drive...whats bent up is the driverside door pushed in on the bottom side so it caused the underneath to bulge under the carpet. If THAT isnt fixable then PEICE!!....ill know somthin tom.

Dude, sorry to hear about your SS!

I've been there with my 99 WS6 and my 93 Firehawk. I rebuilt both of them, but they didn't have that much damage.
The WS6 bashed into the median wall at 65th st during the ice storm of 2003 and had to replace the bumper and hood and bodywork to put the fenders back in line and paint all but the left rear and hatch and rear bumper. I think that was knocking on $9000. I had suspension damage that went unnoticed and am still dealing with that and bad bodywork.
The Firehawk was totalled and gave me only $4400. Took me a while and $2500 more but it got back on the road.

I hope you get a fair deal from your insurance company. If you can't rebuild, There are plenty of F-bods out there needing new homes. Good Luck!

I can't believe how some cops sleep at night. You totalled your car & had a witness that you weren't speeding & officer Barnie Fie jerk gave you a ticket just for good measure. What an *******. Glad you weren't injured physically.Time & a new ride will heal the pain.Remember , lesson learned !
