I have heard too many of these horror stories. Garage your car overenight whenever possible, and no matter where you're going weather it be to hang with friends, or to a car show, ALWAYS cover your VIN!!! Car shows and get togethers are where these people have a chance to pick the one they would like to get for whatever reason. Here is what they see when they try to look at my VIN#.

I've had several comments about. Some positive, some negative, but I'd rather offend a few people and let them think I have poor taste and the wrong attitude than give my car away to these parking lot prowlers!

Man that sucks. I just read about it on LS2 in the southern section. I've been thinking about selling mine, but couldn't imagine having it stolen. I tell my wife all the time to make sure the garage door is closed when she leaves. Biloxi is way too close to N.O./Slidell for me. F-bods get stolen all the time over there. Sorry to hear it man, but I'm always looking for other LE's over here. I'll be on the look out.

Hey my wife's '02 WS6 was stolen from a Baton Rouge hospital parking lot back in Oct. while she was having surgery. These thugs are working this area in the south. Word has it that they take them to New Orleans and stip them out in a matter of hours. Who knows. Anyway, I wish I could get my hands on them. Cowards.......thieves.......thugs......Too lazy to work for a living. To the OP, get another one, start over. They are the losers.

They probably cased your house and got the VIN one night. Cut the keys and watched the house for a while then took the car. This is just said to me. I always worry about our F-bodies even though the VIN's are covered, I still worry. You NEVER know when it will happen.

I have made a habit of parking the F-bodies when I'm out where I can see them if I need too. But while your at work or something is anyones guess. I don't worry about it being stolen at work as much since I'm on a military base.

Really sucks to hear about your SS LE.

This CE was stolen last year, unknown who the owner was. It was found off in the woods off Nicole St/Dr in Avondale.

It was a clean strip. Even the investigators said it was the cleanest strip they had ever seen.

...sucks.

Let's hope so, but I doubt it. It says stolen cars were brought to them (not by them) along with drugs.

Damn man, sorry to hear about this. This is why the Z spends 97% of it's life just sitting in the garage now.

The sad thing is, the authorities really don't seem to care. Even though there are a lot of F-bodies stolen in this area. Guess they just do not consider it a major crime.

Sorry for your loss buddy.

My car is kept in a garage but the coving of the VIN number is a great idea.
