A "real" Formula WS6 will have RPOs WS9, W66 and WS6 on the door decal.

If your WS6 is a '02 like your post title implies, you either don't have a Formula, or its not a real WS6. WS6 was no longer an option on Formulas after MY '00.

Default Need more info

I just purchased a 2000 firebird formula hard top ws6 with SLP package and need to know how rare this car really is and how many hard tops are out thereof has codes WS6 WS9 WS55 on the door panel. As far as I can tell it is 1 of 151 ram airs and only 26 silver produced this year

I just purchased a 2002 WS6 , I drove from upstate NY down to Central Jersey and can feel the power that this Car must have had out of the Factory. I would like to break into the low 12' s or even a high 11's any suggestions. Pontiac 455

If it's a auto Lt headers and a converter, 3600+, will get you deep into the twelves with some drag radials

If my memory is correct there were 233 Formula WS6s in 2000. 1999 was the lowest production year at 175
The hardtop will make it more rare.

BTW, what is an SLP package on a WS6? ASC did the conversion, not SLP. SLP did the Firehawk.

It has the SLP breather and SLP exhaust. It is also silver, it looks almost new top to bottom. Good find. Was just looking for a nice car to drive to work and run around in but I guess I have to baby this one.

So a previous owner added the SLP parts, 99% sure it was not a factory option.

Nice car, I might be biased towards WS6 Formula's.

You may be right I ordered the factory invoice but not sure what it says about it. I was just offered a trade for a 2006 f150 supercharged Harley Davidson with 58,000 mi. A $20,000 truck. Not sure if I should take it. If your interested in the car I could send photos but don't see how to post them on this forum

I wish I could add another one, especially a hardtop. This one I ordered from the factory and will likely die with it. Been in my garage for 15 years now.

Yeah I almost hate to part with mine knowing what it is, didn't when I got it and I guess neither did the guy I got it from. Got a sweet deal on it. Is there a way to swap photos on here or is it cool to add a cell # on here

The pic of your RPO decal cuts off the crucial codes that would confirm that your car is a Formula or a T/A, although no T/As had HTs in '00. But you may also have a 1LE which would make it very rare (can't see any trans codes either that may indicate this possibility). And as been mentioned already, SLP didn't touch any WS6 after '97, so the SLP lid and exhaust were aftermarket add-ons by previous owners.

I have all info on the car and the factory invoice now. It is 1of the few hard top formulas. Was just looking for a nice bird to drive and fell into this. Not bad. The invoice just says special low flow exhaust.

The WS6 had a slightly larger cat back than the non WS6 cars. I think it was 2.75" vs 2.5" mid pipe, just going off a vague memory for that though.

OK, that's nice. What transmission does your car have? Because of the 26 total silver WS6 Formulas built in '00, only 18 had the M6 and the other 8 had the A4. Considering these numbers include both HTs and TTs, yours is even more rare that that.

Oh and a correction on my part, it slipped my mind that no 1LE Firebirds were built in '00.

Rampant is correct that the WS6 option included a better flowing exhaust system behind the cats, but it also included the 17" wheel/tire package, "specifically tuned suspension" (bigger rear sway, stiffer springs (if it was a '98-'99) and the all important Ram Air hood, raised airbox and badge.

There was no "SLP package" stock on any LS1 WS6 car, as mentioned above ASC was responsible for the WS6 conversion in '98+ so these cars never even saw an SLP plant. Any SLP parts present today would have been added afterward by a private owner.

I-pipe was the same size for WS6 as for any base model V8. WS6/SS did received larger tail pipes though (2.75" vs. 2.25" for base model).

A bigger rear sway bar was not included in the WS6 package for the LS1 years. They did receive the larger 32mm front bar from the 1LE package, but not the 21mm 1LE rear bar. WS6 received the same 19mm rear bar that was standard on all base model V8s.

Aye, thanks for the correction, I always seem to get that mixed up, I knew one of the sways was from the 1LE, but not both.
