Whom ever has it probably has no idea. Too many WS6s were bought by "normal people" who just thought it was "cute" and that's why they bought it. Best way to find out would be to locate the VIN and car fax it to find out if it's still on the road and where.

The last WS6 and SS were not sold to the public they were kept by GM for historical purposes. I will try and pull up the article I remember reading about it. The 2nd to last SS which was the last one sold to the public sold for something like 80-100K...

I think you're thinking of the two red convertibles that were the last cars off the line? One Trans Am, one Camaro? If so those weren't sent to SLP/ASC for conversions and remained as a stock Trans Am and Z28.

When Marc Gembinski was born, his father brought him home from the hospital in a '69 Chevrolet Camaro - painted the popular "hugger orange."
By midafternoon Sunday, after a heated and active bidding fight on the auction block, Gembinski, 32, was the proud - very proud - owner of the last Camaro made and sold to the public.

What you could do, is take the VIN # of the last Trans Am and just start subtracting the last digit one number at a time. You'd have to have the VINs looked up by someone at a dealership or pay for Carfax on every single one though.
I *believe* the VIN # of the last T/A was 2G2FV32G822172466 and the last Camaro was ______172467. I know the 172466 and 172467 numbers are right.
To weed out the Camaros, you could run free Carfaxes on each one and just make a list of the last 10 or so Trans Ams. The RPO codes from a full carfax or dealership VIS (Vehicle Inquiry System or whatever it stands for) would tell you the color, WS6, etc.
EDIT: I bet I got the VIN # right for the T/A
VIN: 2G2FV32G822172466
Vehicle: 2002 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM
Records: 0 records found in the CARFAX Vehicle History database

I wouldn't have the slightest idea. I don't really follow Firebird stuff, I just happen to have some pics of the last one in my "last camaro" folder and one showed the VIN #.

The VIN for the last Camaro will have different digits/letters, I'm guessing more like:
2G1FP32G?22172467
2 = Built in Canada
G = GM
1 = Cheverolet (2 = Pontiac)
F = F-body
P = Camaro (S = Firebird, V = Formula / TA)
3 = Convertable (2 = coupe)
2 = Manual Seat Belts
G = LS1 V8
? = Check digit
2 = 2002 (?)
2 = St Therese Assembly Plant
172467 = Build Sequence #
You are correct on the VIN# of the last Firebird.
nelly is also correct that the last WS6 built should have ASC# 12516.

Thanks for the info guys. I am trying to work the vin numbers backwards and get them checked at my local dealership. So far my information is telling me that the next vin backwards whether I try coupe or convertible is invalid but that may be operator error!
