87gnx, do you have any interior pics? I'm curious to see what the aftermarket seats look like. Thanks.

To be honest man your car is very nice but I think you would have trouble getting near what the car is actually worth in my opinion. These cars just have a very poor market at this point in time. I was a huge fan of Frankz White/White combo but now that I have seen yours I think I like the White/Black better.

Anyone know if they have a further breakdown of colors with matching mirrors/sails versus black. I would be interested in knowing how many Bright Rally Red had the Black Mirror/Sails.

Also if you noticed I edited the original post to help keep track of what cars are in here and the color combo to designate if it is a matching sail/mirror car or black.

I retract my previous statement I did not realize you bought the car for $2500. That's an amazing deal its kind of disgusting to my heart though to see how these cars are not worth anything :/ . By the way I noticed in your build sheet that you did not have the 2otl option but as they are very fitting to the car I can get you a contact for a guy that has a good deal on a set if your interested.

Also are those the original ZR1's they look kind of slick with the center caps like that.

UMMM, I froze my azz off last Winter to get that car what it is today. I pulled it out of a field where it was left, because the previous owner was an idiot. The seats, wheels and all were as it is. I did some extensive fuel system work and numerous other things, to get it dependable, with a good coat of wax on the exterior.

87gnx, I see that your car was originally delievered to A&T Chevrolet in Sellersville, PA. That dealership is right down the road from me, pretty cool!

It's not an SS, but has an OEM LT1 SS hood, spoiler, and 2OTL. It's so rare to see an LT1 SS in good shape anymore so I'll post some pics (you can delete this post if you want, just figured some of you might want to look at more pics). In all honesty I should've just searched for an SS but I got this car bone stock when I was 18 and had already become too attached to it. I however would never put SS badges on it. I can't stand people who put the wrong badges on their car trying to imply that it's something it's not.

As I really didn't have a directive with this thread besides to act as a single source to provide a gallery specific to the "special" look of the LT1SS platform, I have no problems with your car being here as it is everything that is an LT1SS besides the emblems and as well it represents a clean (one of the nicest if not the best) example of what an LT1SS looks like.

The only reason I was updating a list was just to serve as a historian of what cars were included just in case some were wondering as I know the old SLP Registry site does not seem to active anymore.

I think most on this site would agree you have one of the nicest LT1's out there don't get to wrapped up about the SS as its just a false inclination of value in which we all know LT1 cars don't have and if it is your purgative to have an SS I feel comfortable saying that as long as you buy one in the next decade you should easily be able to pick one up at a good price then you could have by your car and an LTSS.

Speaking of I was randomly searching craigslist ads today and came across car #361 for $2900 list price which probably could be had for $2500 or less. Ask around and if you know anyone interested PM me and I can supply the ad as I don't want to advertise here.

Also as a side note what is up with all the Hardtop cars.....I thought they were limited in production but literally every 96 SS I see for sale as well as most of this thread is HT cars which I find strange.

A interesting breakdown I would like to see would be percent total of the 1319 T-Top and 686 Hardtop cars:

1. Hardtop w/ D82 Monochromatic option
2. T-Top w/ D82 Monochromatic option

This would give an understanding of the variations in color schemes and would make the amount of each car significantly less. For those that might be a little confused I will use Bright Red (my color ) as an example.

96 SS Bright Red TT (Red Body, Black Sail Panel/Mirrors)
96 SS Bright Red HT (Red Body, Black Sail Panel/Mirrors/Roof Panel)
96 SS Bright Red TT D82 (Red Body, Red Sail Panel/Mirrors)
96 SS Bright Red HT D82 (Red Body, Red Sail Panel/Mirrors/Roof Panel)

Although one could argue there all the same car each one looks so uniquely different as I just say a picture of a D82 T-Top and it just adds so much variation to the look of the car.

Edit: Also would black cars get a D82 option lol???

T Top cars with paint matched sail panel and mirrors are my favorite. It's cool to know the RPO code for that now. Always love a red or white SS with the D82 option.

I am guessing all black cars are D82 (I'll look next time I'm by my car) because the mirrors are always glossy black instead of the dull or matte black like the headlight bucket area on the colored cars. I don't know for sure though, just my guess.

Here is my 1997 SS #1291

What are some of the rarer rpo codes for the ss? Mine has a 2otl exhaust and here is a link to my rpo codes
