Default Questions about my Hawk

I just bought an 02 Firehawk(#1251)SOM, A4, and had a few questions.
1. Someone told me they came with an LS6 intake, is this true?
2. How much power will the Auburn diff handle? Or is it a popcorn fart rearend like the stock GM 10 bolt?
3. At some point in time the tail light filler panel (which had a yellow"trans am") was replaced by a red "firebird". Who knows a good remedy?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx, Collin

I love that color especially on a Firehawk. I almost bought a 2002 SOM M6 Firehawk but I got a much better deal on mine.
But to your questions
Yes you do have a LS6 intake
I have a red bird and red trans am in writing on the back of mine.
Does your passenger side door sticker say you have the auburn diff?
If it doesn't you have the zexle torsion diff. its still a damn good diff.
I think both will handle about the same amount of power. Since you have an auto your rear end will hold up a little better.

Congrats on the Hawk. And the auburn will handle some pretty good power. It's the sticky tires that kill them.

There isn't a 7.5" 10-bolt built that's "tough"...

All '01+ LS1 or LS6 engines got the same LS6 manifold.

The filler panel can be replaced, or you can sand off the current 'bird and polish the panel so it's plain gloss black.

Oh yeah, welcome to the club! Make sure to register your car on www.firehawk.org

My 2000 Camaro SS has the LS-6 intake/manifold. Yes, stock from GM. No,
I did not attach/install.

About the firebird on the filler panel, you can find replacement decals for it in what ever color you want. On my hawk they were origionally red and faded when I bought it, now they are silver and I love the looks of it. You can check it out on my website...

All filler panels have red birds and writing except the CE TA which is silver, and Fomulas which are blank with no bird. The V6s say Firebird and the TAs say Trans Am.

Not all, this one came stock with yellow. Ive contacted the original owner and seen pics of this car when it was new, and since this is a trans am based firehawk, it should say trans am. And the formulas were not blank.

Not all Formula panels are plain black, but if it's a Trans-Am it should always have "Trans-Am" and the bird in red.

If it was yellow, then those must have been overlays, or something custom because I don't recall any 'Hawk from '91 to '02 that has a yellow filler panel.

It's plain black, red "Firebird", red "Trans-Am, or silver "Trans-Am" for the Collectors Edition cars.

I see, it must have been a dealer installed deal or something he did right away, whatever it was, it worked well because of the rest of the yellow badges, red looks out of place. Do you know where I might find a quality yellow overlay? Its been so long since Ive had an LS1 car, I kinde feel like Im starting over. The only hard part now is balancing the 2. (I have a 69 455/4spd Firebird)

Thanks for all the help guys, thers alot of new stuff come about since my last ls1 3 years ago, back then it was impressive for mine to put down 475rwhp, but now it seems to be the norm. I guess your never too old to learn new things.
I patiently await the delivery of the Hawk, it should be here tonight, but thats what the truck has sad for the last 2 days. The first thing Im gonna do is **** of my neighbors with a big smoky burnout down the street.

yeah, I believe that neighbors should be broken in properly, beer drinking, loud music , sex in front of open windows , all leads up to the ever offensive smoky burnout, which I did at 1:30 in the morning, I havent seen my neighbors in 2 days. Think theyre mad??
