Default Smokey and the Bandit WS6?

Not to be intruding on this board cause I got a 35th Anniversary Z28. But, has anyone seen one of those anniversary edition Trans Ams that was made around the time they were about to stop production on the 02 F-Bodys'. I remember seeing a picture of it on the net. It was suppose to be a WS6 that was yellow that was suppose to be paying tribute to the Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. If anyone has one, post some pics because they looked tight.

There is the yellow/black 2002 "Collector Edition Trans-Am WS6" but it has nothing to do with Smokey & the Bandit.

There are no Bandit cars other than the '77 - '81's (no 4th gens)

I have no idea about the Bandit part of what you mean, maybe you heard that somewhere, but the Collector's Edition Trans Am was only made in '02, and it's yellow, and as far as I know they're all WS6 cars as well, so I'll guess that's what you're looking for.

Well, that's a vert, and it doesn't have the bird, but it does have the 3rd gen script on the sides, and the gold pinstriping. The wheels? Way off.

There's more pictures of the Collector's Edition cars here: http://www.firebirdgallery.com/Editi...tor_02lot1.htm

Still has nothing to do with Smokey & the Bandit. And of course Firehawks (especially the 10th ann cars) aren't yellow and they aren't WS6's.

There were no "Bandit" cars ever, period. People just call them that after Burt drove a '77 model T/A used in the movie. But the cars were Black & Gold Special Editions, option code Y81 & Y82 and first available in 1976. Burt's own T/A he owned was in 1978, the first Y84 code Special Edition with an Olds 403 and auto trans (1 of 210 made), and the comapny I work for now owns it.

Don't forget the '97 and '98 LPE/Hurst Firebirds were black w/ gold stripe(s) too. Also the 10th Anniv. Hawks ('01) were black w/ gold stripes / wheels. A "tribute" to the 2nd gen SEs (aka Smokey and the Bandit)?? Nawwww.

I think you just described why Pontiac didn't do the black and gold for the 35th anniv. car. I'm sure it would look great, but already been done a bit.

I wasn't suggesting that the 35ths ('02s) be black-n-gold, I was referring to the 30ths ('99s). At that point in time, only the 18 LPE/Hurst Firebirds existed. If anything was "overdone" by that time it would be white-n-blue (can you say 25ths and 15ths?). At least the 35ths were NOT white/blue.

They did make a late 3rd gen bandit edition firebird. All the ones I seen were red with a bolt on shaker scoop and bandit decals. I think they were all tbi cars. I could be wrong but I think choo choo customs made em???

Not to nitpick, but the German script was not used on 78 models, it was only up to 77. I have a 78 Trans Am, and have seen gold and black edition 78 TAs, they do not have German script, but a more 'normal' font, as it were.

Umm... lots of people (myself included) THOUGHT they had a Bandit edition Firehawk/Forumla/Trans-am car with the 4th Gen (LT1's and even a 1998 I think)... Gold WS6 wheels and all, I remember seeing it at the dealership... BUT it was the Hurst car:

True, GM doesnt call it a bandit car nor does SLP, but they sure did captialize on the Bandit looks. all of the magazines, and just about everyone I know refer to the 10th hawks as Smokey and the Bandit cars.
