I contacted Marcus a few weeks ago about my 00’ WS6. He doesn’t have the info for mine. He is retired, but still responds.

Sent an email. I’ve seen this post in years past, but never acted on it. I’m curious to see what info I can get if I get a reply.

I emailed Marcus and he did respond. Gave him my info and a few weeks later he emailed me back with a nice form letter with production figures and build number. Very cool of him to still be doing this.

I phoned General Motors approximately 2 years ago with my VIN# and they were able to tell me that I had CETA #286. I believe I still have the phone number with my CETA's paper work. I will try to find it and pass it on to you.

The phone number I used to find out my ASC # was 1-866-790-5600. The GM representative was helpful and also asked for the vehicles mileage for their records.

The CETA# and ASC# are not the same thing. I'm pretty sure GM assigned each CETA a unique build number (which is why they are able to provided it based on your VIN#). The ASC# was assigned by ASC for each WS6 they converted (not just the CETAs), which is why GM can't provide it (they don't have ASC's records). Non-CETA WS6s will have only an ASC#, CETAs will have both an ASC# and a CETA#. Same as how the 30ths are.

Thank you for the information. I was unaware that there were two different numbers assigned to these vehicles.

I called them today, 1/18/2021 and was transferred to GM Heritage Center where I had to leave a voicemail. I left my name, email, and provided the last 8 of my VIN. When talking to GM I was put on hold for about 2 hours and told they had no information on cars produced in 2002. There were nice enough to directly transfer me but I am not sure how far I can get. The automated message stated they have build sheets and order sheets available. I already have a copy but was hoping for at least the GM build number. I have emailed Marcus a few times over the past 6 months but haven't gotten a reply.

That is encouraging! So I wonder if he just gets a ton and email and deletes or tosses the ones he doesn't recognize (I do that for the most part on the ones that get past my SPAM filters)? Hopefully he still has the database and its accessible.
