Grilles on SS Camaros??

Grilles on SS Camaros?? Whats up guys, I have a quick question that I'm sure someone can answer. I am looking at a 98 SS and something worries me about the grille. It has the black grille that says "CAMARO" and not "SS". I'm not sure if this means anything or not, but is it a sign that it is a fake? I am thinking that the SS grille was an extra option maybe(I hope) or that the 98's didn't have them? Help a noob out please, it will be much appreciated.

From any of the literature I've seen for at least 99 SLP options, the grille wasn't an available option at the time so if I had to guess it wasn't in 98 either. I'm pretty sure it wasn't available until 2000 or possibly 2001? I could be wrong though...

Yeah mine was an option as well on the door tag. If you can find one it can easily be changed. Also I think I replied to one of your posts as to what to look for in the codes to make sure its not a fake.
