POWERSTOP Slotted brake rotors help prevent:

* Uneven friction layer deposits on the rotor that lead to rotor warping
* Rotor glazing due to high temperature resin bleed from the brake pad
* High temperature brake fade (loss of coefficient of friction)
* Gas and dust build-up between the pad and the rotor that reduces pad bite

The science behind the Power Stop solution

1. High carbon rotors improve temperature stability and heat transfer - Power Stop uses the finest blanks featuring G3000 grade castings from the best foundries in the world. Most foundries lower carbon to increase tensile strength and hardness. Power Stop rotors have a carbon content that is 3% more than competitive brands while maintaining 210 Brinell hardness and 250 MPa tensile strength. The microstructure is an ideal homogenous matrix of perlitic and graphite flakes.

2. Castings are made from high carbon pig-iron without residual contamination from secondary scrap metals . Almost all off-shore foundries dump scrap in the material with residual elements such as Niobium, Vanadium, Molybdenum, Titanium and Tungsten. These residual materials cause the formation of uncontrolled carbides in the microstructure that weaken the casting.

3. Precise machining - Our rotors are carefully machined to prevent stress risers, and they are guaranteed not to crack for 3 years when combined with our brake pads. All products conform to OE dimensions for a perfect fit every time.

4. Fade resistant friction - Power Stop brake pads are specifically engineered to hold a high coefficient of friction above 1000 degrees. Where other pads show brake fade, Power Stop consistently delivers superior brake power.

5. Power Stop brake pads use positive mold technology. Posi-mold pads enable consistent density as the material is hot pressed at over 6,000 psi. The result is consistent performance and low noise. All pads are asbestos free.

6. Power Stop's plating resists rust and keeps the rotors looking new. Some competitors use cadmium plating that is highly toxic, and a significant cancer risk. Cadmium is banned in Europe and with all major vehicle manufacturers.

*Shipping is free on all orders in the contiguous 48 states!

How well do these hold up to rust?

Can i paint over the zinc coating with brake paint or powder coating?

Is there any guarantee against warping?

I ordered the rdilled/slotted rotors/with pads from Brakemotive back in August. This was an awesome deal and the rotors and pads are excellent.

The set I ordered were F &R silvertone with zinc coating. The people who did my install painted the hats and sandblasted and painted my calipers. They look awesome-see pics (not great but get the idea):

Ski23: Pmed you.

The resistance to corrosion is dependent upon the conditions the rotors are subject to. Someone in AZ with a weekend cruiser will have no rust for longer than someone in Chicago with a daily driver.

You can paint over the zinc, its a great base.

There is no warranty on warping. Even Brembo won't guarantee against warping. There are just too many variables out of our control to guarantee against it. There is a one year warranty against cracking when powerstop rotors are used with pads other than powerstop. There is a three year warranty against cracking when they are used with powerstop pads.

They'll be on sale until we get rid of all the surplus mismatched rears.

x2 I was wondering if we could just get the fronts, since I got LT1 brakes. I'm guessing the deal is only for both sets since the rears are defected (in a way).

There isn't anything defective with the rear rotors, someone just made a mistake and machined a ton of one side. The rears are essentially included free till inventory levels come back down to normal. I can sell you just front for $119.99 shipped if you don't want the rears.

Damn does anyone know if LS1 rear rotors will work on my 95 LT1? I'd get the whole set with pads because I'm doing an LS1 front brake swap.

They will not fit, unless your talking about doing a caliper and bracket swap as well. I sent you a PM.

Z16 is a 100% non-ferrous compound designed for clean, quiet operation. Z26 pads are a much more aggressive semi-metallic compound designed to withstand repetitive high temp stops.

Compound Charts

AnivSS: The ceramic pads are the denser of the two compounds. They will wear the slowest, but keep in mind a drilled/slotted rotor will accelerate pad wear by about 20% over a blank rotor.
