Default Super Sucker Ram Air Kit's (SSRA) now available at WS6store.com!!

WS6store.com is now proud to be offering the Super Sucker Ram Air kit for the 98-02 F-bodies. It's available in either a Mega-mouth version for non-a/c cars, or the standard version for cars with A/C.

The SSRA kit was designed to pick up where the competition left off for 1998-2002 F-bodies.

The major difference between the competition and the SSRA kit is that the Super Sucker Ram Air actually scoops in air. It is a two piece kit, with a lower piece sliding into the upper, which attaches under the nose of your car. This scoop is about 2 inches tall and 15 inches wide. This becomes a continuous box(scoop) all the way up to the base of the air filter.

Another major difference is the SSRA is made of black Polypropolene plastic. Polypropolene plastic is very strong, yet forgiving. The black plastic matches the OEM appearance of the car, and looks great. Since the SSRA is plastic it won't heat soak like steel. This will help your car run cooler.

Speaking of running hot. One of SSRA's competitors has a problem with their cold air induction kits making cars run hotter. Tested side by side their kit made the coolants temperature hotter by about 10 degrees and the inlet air temp(IAT) 6-7 degrees. If a car runs to hot it loses horsepower. To avoid this problem, beginning at the top near the air filter, the SSRA angles away from the radiator, unlike the competition. This allows cool air to circulate through the radiator.

For those of you who want to seal off your airbox to achieve a supercharging effect, the SSRA is designed to allow you to do this. Included all necessary materials for sealing and blocking off the SSRA. Best of all the SSRA makes power. A blower fan was placed in front of the nose of the car to simulate airstream. The airstream velocity was measured at 60mph with an anemometer at 10 feet away. On a Dynojet a stock 2002SS Camaro picked up approximately 13rwhp over stock. The SSRA is a quick, easy way to gain horsepower.

The Mega Mouth kit was designed very similar to the original Super Sucker Ram Air(SSRA) that incorporates an actual scoop attached to the lower bumper. This scoop feeds air into the bottom of the air filter. The SSRA Mega Mouth flows about three times as much air as the original SSRA. With the air conditioning condenser removed, this allows the ducting to be significantly larger.

Like the original SSRA, the Mega Mouth is made out of Polypropylene plastic. This makes it very strong, light, flexible, and won't heat soak like kits made of metal. Metal cold air kits lay flat against your radiator, raising your cars operating temps because they are blocking off about half the radiator. The Mega Mouth is designed with 1/2 inch tabs on the sides to keep it off the radiator. This allows air to pass behind it, and through the radiator unlike the competition.

The Mega Mouth comes with mounting hardware and weatherstripping to seal it to the air box. No drilling is required for this kit. Also included is a rain block off.

Unfortunately we didn't have access to one at the time to test fit, but I run the LT1 radiator which has a larger core compared to the stock LS1 radiator and it fits fine. See pics in link below for details.

See pics in the link below for the install. The AC condenser that mounts directly in front of the radiator must be completely removed for the Mega Mouth. Otherwise, the SSRA works fine with the AC.
