Default Intake Manifold Removal Steps

For those who are planning to remove their intake manifold to get it ported or for other modifications, we have created step by step removal instructions.

Most weekend mechanics can do it themselves in an hour or less.

Here is the link to that page on our web
http://www.peakspeedshop.com/page6.php

Having your intake manifold and throttle body ported can be one of the lowest cost ways for you to gain more horsepower. For more information on our porting and powdercoating services, go to http://www.peakspeedshop.com/.

Okay.... we'll extend a little love. Same deal for BBK intakes.
$225 for basic porting (radical doesn't apply). Just let us know what you're running for a throttle body and heads.

We only do the basic porting on the LS6 manifolds. Porting isn't as effective on that manifold as the ones we've listed. People claim 0-10 rwhp gains from porting. If you want us to port it, we will extend the same price deal.... $225 for basic porting.

does anyone know what kind of gains to expect from a radical ported ls2 and ported throttle body over a ls6 with a ported tb, wondering if its worth it to buy a ls2 and tb to have ported or if I should just wait and get a fast eventually

Many say the LS2 intake manifold is a step backward from the LS1 and they are right if you consider simply the stock unported LS2 manifold. The reason for this is that the LS2 intake manifold switched to a new process that sonic welded three pieces together. The result is that where the pieces joined together they rarely butt together properly and there are ridges and bumps that disrupt airflow. However, porting the LS2 manifold smooths all of these transitions. Basic Porting of an LS2 manifold will generally get up to 5 rwhp better than the LS6. Our Radical porting of the LS2 manifold generally gains an additional 5 rwhp over the basic porting. For the difference between Basic and Radical porting, go to our web site at http://www.peakspeedshop.com/

Another advantage to the LS2 intake manifold is that it allows you to step up to a 90mm throttle body from the LS1 78mm throttle body. The cost of the LS2 intake manifold is less than an LS6 manifold, however, that is offset by the additional cost of having to pick up the LS2 fuel rails, injectors and throttle body as well as the cost for porting. In the end, though, it is my opinion that you will have a better intake system than the LS6/78mm setup at about half the cost of a FAST setup.

That's not saying that we're not a fan of FAST manifolds. They are a quality product and we also port them. However, if you're on a budget and looking for the biggest bang for the buck, switching to the ported LS2 setup is a great option for LS1 owners.
