This is the next generation of Dart's LS Next engine blocks and we locked in the order for this first batch almost a year ago. We're very excited to announce we received Block Serial#: 0002. #0001 got cut up and inspected leaving this the earliest SHP LS Next in existence. It was shown on Dart's booth at the Race & Performance Expo in Schaumburg IL (Feb 20-21, 2016). We took it "home" after the show.

Is DART releasing these yet? From my understanding, they haven't even started shipping these yet. I spoke to a guy at DART a little over a month ago and they hadn't even gotten them from whoever is making the blocks for them.
Sorry for the miscommunication. Your information was incorrect. As stated in our posting, we received Block 002 in February. The photo of Richard Maskin with our block 002 shown in the original post above was photo-shopped by Dart from the original taken by me at Dart in late January (see below).
We had placed a large pre-production order with Dart and were first in line. Since receiving Block 002, we have received several additional blocks. Dart has been shipping these to us typically 2 at a time. Some were sold as fully-machined blocks, others were complete builds. One is on the dyno now. Another is an already-completed Whipple supercharged LS3.
Because of our pre-production order, we will remain first on line from blocks as Dart releases them. If you want to buy an LS SHP block, we are likely able to supply you faster than anyone else. We are likely also the only engine shop that has already completed multiple builds.

Quantity Update- We currently have 4 SHP blocks in 4.125 bore, 9.240 deck height, 7/16 head bolts, with standard mains and cam tunnel.
