Hey Matt, I bought a Moser from you quite a while back and am now running a strange spool in it with a solid spacer and 33 spline axles. Do you think this rear could take 1000rwhp or there abouts with a six speed? My guess is no but I would like to here your thoughts.

Seems you have done a few mods since we last talked...

What are the torque numbers looking like?

What rear gear ratio? Stock F-Body T56 gear ratios (2.66 1st)?

I am not too familiar with the Strange spool I'd have to look into the power handlings on them. I will assume your TQ numbers will be in the 1000 range.

If you are running a 4.11 gear you'll need the axles to handle around 9800 ft. lbs of Torque. The 35 Spline axle will handle 9600 ft lbs per axle (19200 ft lbs. torque rating between both axles) and generally you want the one axle rating to be able to handle what you need. This way you won't have to worry about breaking an axle. The 33 splines are good to 8200 each.

This motor is not together yet. I'm just trying to get my plans in order. It will be a turbo 408 so you can assume similiar but slightly less torque. I am in between 3.42 to 3.73 gears. This will be with the 2.66 1st as well. With the 3.42 gears I still have some left on the table. With the 3.73s I am over the limit. Do you think the housing itself will take the punishment? Is it the axles that will become an issue?

BTW, anyone who is considering a rear should deffinately talk to Matt. Absolutely first class service and after service as you can see by him helping me on this post.

Sorry Matt, I don't want to steer you off topic on your sale. I could pm if you like. This thread maybe educational for people considering the rears though. I've been nothing but happy with mine.

The Moser 12-bolts have gone in numerous 7 second cars with no problems at all. The housing should take the abuse no problem.

You going to have the motor done by MIR events?

I would guess not. But I'm not posative. I would say there is about a 5% chance I will be ready by then. Thanks Matt, sounds like it all comes down to the axles then.
