Default Looking for Sponsors

Guys i know this is probably a shot in the dark, but I am looking for sponsors to help me finish my car. I have the shortblock taken care of as well as the Turbo setup, just need the rest. I will allow my car to be anyone's puddy in their hands as long as it gets finished. My goal is to run low 8's, possibly lower than 7.94 but that is neither here nor there. I will sign a contract for 2 or more years with any company that helps me out. Here is what i need:

heads: I have 310 cfm flowing West Coast Racing stage II heads, but not sure if that was good enough.

Narrowed 9' rear: Any rear will do as long as it hold that 1000+ RWTQ I plan to have

All Suspension: I need everything

All Safety equiptment: Harness, roll cage, seats, etc.

All Engine Management: Big Stuff 3

Intake: Fast 90/90?

Wheels and tires: Bogarts, Welds??

Anything else I have probably left off, so if you would like to help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Getting sponsored and having them pay for the stuff is hard.We have 3 shop cars sponsored by Procharger and it helps some but really very little when we are running 7-8's.The best way is to build your car, show how it runs and then the sponsor's will step up to help you maintain all the parts you break

just start asking people...businesses, friends, whatever/whoever....that's what i did and it's helped quite a bit so far. i have a tire sponsor (slicks for the entire season...and they paid for my bogarts), a paint sponsor, and a nitrous sponsor (doing an NA motor now though so that's not really that helpful) is Ashdown, AR anywhere near Little Rock or Hot Springs.

Yes Ashdown, AR is about 1.5 hrs from Hot Springs and about 3 from Little Rock. I have emailed a lot of the sponsors on here, but I am only getting like 20% discounts. I know I can be competetive with the fastest, just need suspension, a rear, and an installer and a few other things. I called Rossler and I am going to have him build me a 4L80E. So if anyone can help, thanks,

Jon

if you're wanting to go that fast then the 4l80e isn't even close to your best choice, a liberty, or powerglide or a th400 is the only thing that will take you that fast in that car. a 4l80 wont even get close to the times you're wanting. it's going to be very near impossible to get someone to "donate" all those things you want, but more power to you. we could all be competitive with the fastest if we didn't have to pay for our own parts...that's what sets the fastest apart from the slower.

Yea, I know, but I believe that Rossler can build me such a tranny that can handle that much power, yet still retain good drivability. I don't expect anyone to donate me anything big, just like maybe a suspension part or two. I have all the big things exept the rear. Anyways I guess I will keep trying, thanks.

rossler wont, can't, and wouldn't if he coule build you a 4l80e to run 8s with. it's HEAVY, and when i say it's heavy i mean it's HEAVY AS HELL. powerglide is the best thing for you if you want it to be a turbo car.

How do you plan on running with the fastest track only cars while maintaining drivability? If you want to be the fastest - go for it, but get a beater.

I believe that it will be a competetor, but yea, I guess I need to ahead and go all out, but I still want to be able to hope in it and run imports and cobras on the street. I guess I need to go ahead and add the transbrake to my tranny, lol.

**** dude, I feel ya, I wish I could get a sponsor too!!! My motor is pretty much done, as well as the entire drivetrain and suspension!!! I just need a couple little things to make the new motor a little better, like a set of kooks 1-7/8 stepped to 2 headers, a fast 90 intake with a nick williams 90 tb (don't want a fast tb, here they stick open), and a direct port kit with a standalone to feed it cuz right now I have a tnt wet kit that i'm gonna hit a 200 shot with, but I built the motor with a 300 shot in mind and she's gonna be beggin for it, hehe!!!! Oh yeah, and then I need to upgrade my safety equipment (6 point cage to 10 point and anything else I may need) and get my sub 9 second license! Hopefully i'll have it all before the end of the year!!! I've put a lot of time and money into my car and a few of my good friends have put a lot of time into it too, it would definately be nice to have someone to help out with the money part a little!!!

I agree that the 4L80E is very heavy. Everything else I would have to disagree with.
Deffinately not the tranny of choice to be competitive with seeing that weight is a big factor. Good luck.

If you want to run street races, build a street car. You want to run 8's, build a car that will run 8's. Don't bet on doing both real well.

Real Fast != Real Streetable.

Yea, I know what you guys are saying, I went from wanting to beat everyone on the street to wanting to beat almost everyone at the track. Oh well I can't have the best of both worlds, I guess since no one is going to sponsor me, then I can do really what ever I want, so 8 second daily driver, here I come, lol For real though, I just need to know that if I did go ahead and make this a pure track car, than someone would help me out, I could do the extra miles to make it a true track beast instead of strattling the street/ strip fence. Either way, I guess it wil just take some time

Sorry, Auctane, I dont mean to **** on your parade, but I fear you may be severely underestimating what it takes to be a seven second car. Exactly what kind of shortblock and turbo setup do you have? Also, unless your car is made of fiberglass and aluminum tubing, youre gonna need WAY more than 1000 HP to get down the track in the 7's. What experience do you already have? Have you worked your way up from stock, to 12's, to 11's, to 10's, and maybe even a 9 second slip? I couldnt get behind the wheel of an 8 second car and expect to pull in an 8 second slip. If you really have done all the research and really know exactly whats involved, I apologize for doubting you.

you can help your self by finding one shop and being loyal to them once you build a relationship with them you may be able to come to a agreement. Why wouldnt a shop just build there own car? why should they build yours? most cars a shop sponsors are already proven themselves. once you proven yourself and have a sponsor the sponsor will help you maintain the car and make updates to the car. Im not shooting you down here but you should get your car running before you try to strike a deal.

thanks, yea, I probably got ahead of myself. I will work hard to get there, but I think that I really just want a really really bad daily driver. You see, the fact that I have never been to a drag strip is probably the reason, but I am more of a guy that just wants to watch someone drive his car to a 7 second run, I weight 300 and am 6'6 so i don't think I would be the optimal driver. About the shop, i thought I might have had one, but they screwed up my last setup when they put it in my car so I really don't want to trey them again. Chris, I have a setup that you took off of a car and I haven't received the down pipes nor the 42.5 injectors for it yet??? The guy that I bought it from was name Daniel Levin, but he bought it from a WS6 owned by Chas30 on here or some guy like that. Do you have any idea what I am talking about? It was a CAS TT kit. He thought he sent me the wrong turbos first. Anyways Chris, I know it will take time, but I will do as I said, thanks,

Jon
