Default Combination Motorsports Summertime Shortblock Sale(Revised)

Hello everyone,
For those that don't know us we are located out here in Las Vegas, NV. We have been on the scene for approximately three years and over the past year we have brought our entire machining facility in house.

We have a full service Sunnen facility, including the CK-21 Hone, and we have just added our new RMC V40 CNC machine.
The V40 adds a whole new level of accuracy and gives us the ability to provide our customers their order in a timely manner.
We have been in our 11,000 sq ft facility for over a year and a half now, and have no need or intention on moving.

Our machining staff includes Brett, our master machinist, Gary, our lead Engineer and assembler, Mike, engine assembler, and Adam, our Ampro Cleaning specialist.
These guys don't answer sales calls and they don't ship out parts, they are dedicated to the engine program we have.
That doesn't mean that they won't answer a tech question about your motor.

Our shortblock special will include free shipping to continental US and a 5% discount off any of our shortblocks.
There will be no gp total to meet and there will be a shipping estimate given to each individual order.
There is also no core charge for LS1 shortblocks

You can find our regular prices at this link:
Aluminium Short Blocks
http://www.cmotorsports.com/engine/l...ort-block.html

Iron Short Blocks
http://www.cmotorsports.com/engine/l...ort-block.html

Listed below are the descriptions of the particular shortblock that may suit you:

The Real Street series short blocks are designed for street applications.
The Wild Street series is focused on the street/strip engines.
The Outlaw Street series engines are race engines designed for limited street use.
The Pro Street series are designed to take whatever you can throw at it built completely custom per application.

As said before, all orders will have their own shipping estimates and we have the parts on the shelf ready to assemble.
We also have plenty of core blocks ready to go, so there is no need to send yours ahead of time.

Please call us at 702-798-8504 8:30-5:00pm (PST) or email us at sales@cmotorsports.com for any questions or orders.
This sale will end June 30th.

The short block is the foundation of your new engine, so make sure that the foundation is strong.
Thank you for your time.

Dave@Combination Motorsports

I hate to say it because I know you guys are a very reputable shop, but this thread sounds almost exactly like APE's shortblock sale thread which led to complete disaster. I really hope you guys can bring good will back to the engine building side of LS1Tech sponsors as there is a bad taste in a whole lot of people's mouths right now.

Good luck and happy building.

I am very happy with my Cmotorsports 408. So far i am up to 767rwhp and 1000rwtq and that pushed my 4800lb brick to a 10.65 @132mph. I hope to see 1000rwhp in the next month or so.

Recently my tranny let go and the motor saw 7500+rpm at 16psi. Kinda scarry but it didn't seem to hurt anything, still running strong.

They are not doing a group purchase or offering FREE motors to anyone. Just leting everyone know that they sell motors now.

I was expecting this, and it's the price all vendors pay when something like this occurs.
We are well aware of the current situation, in fact, three former customers of APE's have already purchased motors with us.
It's already been brought up so I won't beat it to death, but we aren't offering shortblocks at cost and charging $200 to machine and assemble.
We are simply trying to offer the best product available to the consumer at the most reasonable price.
If ten people ordered shortblocks today, they are not all getting their shortblocks in the same amount of time.
They will be processed in order and given an expected shipping date.
No free motors for promised due dates, just a reasonable shipping estimate.
The machines that we have allow us to complete these shortblocks in the esitmated time we give out.
The only thing we are obligated to is honesty and delivering a quality product.

Also APE was like 2200 bucks NO CORES.
I think this would be one hell of a deal if instead of giving free shipping and 5% off they did regular pricing plus shipping but no core charge.
That would be a sweet deal.
Only a 300 dollar or so difference but it is acyurally much bigger then that once you pay for shipping of your core back to the company. At any rate this is a much smarter way to make a good business. Charge a fair amount, have good C/S and deliver a product on time.
Nice to have a new engine builder on the site.
Good luck.

This was a hot topic when discussing what we were going to do as a special.
What it comes down to is supply.
We have a source for cores, but it's in the best interest of the customer if we can keep a running supply going.
I was a proponent of the non-core deal, but in the end I just wanted to be able to tell someone, "We're pulling your block for cleaning", vs. "we're waiting on cores to show up."

Thanks for the well wishes.

I talked to dave for a while one day about coming back to this site to be a sponsor because I said although there are other sponsors on the board that do motors and sell parts I know the way they treat customers and know that people will pass on the word fast..
I bought a motor from APE and after I put it together I was having trouble diagnosing a couple things with it. I called dave@cms and he actually talked to me for about 15 minutes of what things to try and different things it could be. He knew the motor wasnt from him and that all ive spent with the company was 700 bucks 2 years ago but he still helped me out. That wasnt the only time either. I and two of my friends that I told had ordered cam kits when they were running specials on them and I have never received better service. When my friend ordered one kit he called me to tell me that one of the pieces in the kit is on back order from comp and asked if I still wanted the kit so I said ok and as soons as they were available he had comp drop ship it overnight. These guys will deliver what they say they'll deliver I guarantee it

I personally didnt see the resemblance, or dire need to bring any up, to the APE-****. Although I have my APE 347 sitting in the crate, still, at my house, lucky for me, knowing now I would go with CMS. I bought my transmission, level 2 4L60E built by Les (or is it Wes) and cant imagine going through anyone else since then for the trans. Excellent CS and repore here on island.

Dave, do you guys sleeve blocks? If so, please pm the pricing for just cleaning, sleeve, cam bearing install and finish hone etc, basically just prepping the block. No assmebly or anything. Thanks,

Charlie

I was thinking the same thing about it looking similar to AP's sale, which i ordered from. Except AP was selling shortblocks for waaay cheaper and with no core charge which didn't help with their cash flow problems. Also Chris Gelineau isn't on the staff so that's a good sign.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to post up a couple of things.

First will be the pics of our shop, just to let you know it actually exists.

CMS Machine Shop Pics

Second, after much deliberation, we have decided against charging for cores on LS1 based shortblocks.
Prices are still accurate and the sale is still good to go, there just won't be any LS1 core charge.

At this point we've had a total of four motors ordered thru this website and I've given about ten estimates.
Two have already shipped and the other two are about a week or two from shipping well within their delivery time.
The APE reference is unavoidable I guess, but that's just not us.
Thanks for your time.

I can vouch for CMSports, Sam and Dave have helped me out more times than I can count. I try to do alot of my motor myself and they're always there when I get to a point beyond my knowledge. I recently threw a rod, so I see a new motor in my future. I talked to Dave and Sam and they helped me pick out what i need. As soon as, my finances are in order. I'll definitely be ordering my motor from them.

I too can vouch for Combo. While my wife and I were living in Las Vegas, and since we have moved here to Texas we have done business with Combo. Dave and Sam have always been there to help us out when purchasing any parts.

Combo built the 408 that was in the GTO I just sold.
Good guys to work with.

Oh, and with a FAST intake and 90MM TB, the car just made 509rwhp.
Not too shabby.

combo...you guys keep making this deal sweeter and sweeter. i was going to have a local builder do my motor but it might be cheaper for you guys....i'm looking to do a boosted solid roller 348ci motor...if you could pm me with a quote of some kind it would appreciate it.

heads will be LQ9s with obvious porting but stock chambers....goal CR is 9.1:1, forged rods/pistons. cam will be in the .680" lift area with ~250-260* duration. still contimplating the dry sump ideal as well. thanks for any info.

What kind of delivery time are you looking at for a 347 real street?

I just moved to Las Vegas 2 weeks ago. On my way to a dyno my fuel pump overheated right in front of his shop. Dave came out and offered anything he could do to help me out. It turned out after getting the tour of his amazing shop, my car cooled off and everything was ok. Its good to know I found a place where I can go to locally for anything. What a nice clean and professional shop.

Dave you should post some pics up of the projects you guys have going on in there. Thanks again for offering me help the other day.
