i want in line on one of the 347s, but i have a question or two also. with a 66cc chamber what CR would those pistons yield? looking for around 11.5:1, running solid roller in the ~0.750" lift ~260 duration and running a single plane with a plate. thanks guys that's a helluva deal for a fully forged 346.

WOW! Anyone even thinking about getting a new SB should jump on this! I'm thinking about it and my SB only has 500 miles on it. LOL... guess my timing wan't there this time. Someone is gonna get a hell of an engine at a hell of a price.

Skipper, using the info you gave me, and the following parameters, you are a long way from 12:1
- Stroke 3.622
- Bore 3.9
- Chamber 66cc
- Gasket .055
- Valve reliefs 4cc
Nets a CR of about 9.8:1
I used this calculator: http://www.race-cars.net/calculators...alculator.html
You would need a 50cc chamber to get to about 11.9:1 without changing any of theother parameters. You could go to a thinner head gasket, but then you sacrifice piston to valve clearance.

thanks a ton Todd. i'll give Kevin a call monday. i have a 6.0L block right now i was planning to use for my new setup. i wonder if Kevin could put together something similar to the LS6 above but with my block still using the forged crank etc.

Mark...the 347 engines all have flat top pistons and would not really be "boost friendly" over about 6-7psi. For us to build a boost friendly engine would require special pistons. These engines were built with extra parts we had in the shop already hence the good pricing.

Sent you a PM Kevin...
Do the 347's have -4cc valve reliefs too ?
Just wanted to ask you about throwing in a cam/cam bearings/oil pump/pan for me as well.
Maybe something around a 218/224 on a 116 LSA (blower cam) ? Needs to be be streetable and pass emissions out here in Cali. What would you recommend, and can you hook me up ?
