GI: GP of Large Format/Poster Size Prints of Your Car As many of you all know I work at a Graphic Design/Printer place with access to Large Format Printing.
I figure I'd run this by you guys to see if there was a good enough interest in getting this done.
Mods, I don't know if there already is a sponsor already offering this but I'm going on a limb, if i'm over the line, please let me know. Or move to the correct forum.
What this idea is:
I can get you guys poster size quality photos of your car, (color corrected, blown up, effects added, text added, etc etc) printed on photo quality/heavyweight paper stock.
What it entails:
I'm trying to convince my boss that this will bring in good money and provide a very nice service. I wanted to offer it to car guys first as test dummies and give you guys a chance to have really high quality prints of your cars for your garage/room etc etc.
If it is on 12x18 or smaller it will be on a Heavyweight Glossy Stock Photo Paper printed by laser
If it is larger than 12x18 it will go to a large format inkjet printed on either a glossy or matte stock heavyweight UV coated paper
What is needed?
What I'm going to need from you guys is people that are interested.
I'm also going to be needing high rez quality photos of your car or photos of whatever (nothing too obsecene please). I'm talking about like at least 6 megapixels and up.
What we will provide:
Color Correction, Text, Graphics, Logos, Effects etc etc (think poster) within reason added
Also available is: Black & White Monochrome Prints, and Duo/Tri Tone Prints
High quality prints
Shipped to you rolled in a tube
What is not included:
Framing - If there is enough interest we can work something out but it will take longer to provide.
Shipping. Shipping will be additional and will be mailed out through the service of your choice.

UPDATE:
For a 24inx36in poster print of whatever you send me, it'll be about $54 + shipping. What that'll include is:
Printed on Hewlett Packard Q6576A High Gloss Photo Paper
Using UV Coated Ink it is good for inside and OUTSIDE
Ink is suppose to guarentee up to 200 years without fading
For the 12x18 prints or 11x17, the first one will be 12 bucks and any additional print after that will be $1! Limited per person.
That'll be printed on a Cromcoat, 120lb weight paper.
The quality is about magazine quality print but on much thicker stock. (see the included samples from above)
And for the guys interested in large format, we can print much larger also! Just let me know and I'll see what I can do for you and get pricing and such.

UPDATE: We have our first print out and let me say it looks AMAZING. Here is the photo to show you how big it is, our desk girl was on the phone so excuse her expression, I don't think she realized that she was going to be on the internet hahaha.

update:
due to how expensive the ink is and the results of trying to blow up photos to 24x36 from a 5 megapixel picture, we are only now doing 24x36 if you can provide a 8 megapixel picture or higher
however
we can do a 12x18 no problem if you provide a 5 megapixel picture or higher

I think I want the big poster. My wife accuses me of having sex with my car anyway, so I think I will post it over the bed

Just another update for you guys:
For people who don't have high enough resolution cameras, if you have at least a 5 megapixel camera, I can montage together a couple images for you to make a big poster if needed.
Also for people who want a big picture but don't have a nice enough camera, I have a friend in Florida who is willing to travel to take pics for you for a small fee. If you are interested, let me know and I will pass on the information
