Details on our ongoing expansion at SK Speed Hey whats up everyone, I thought Id update everyone here at tech on what we have been working on at SK Speed.
For those of you who didn't know, up until 6 months ago, we had two locations on Long Island about 25 miles apart. Our lease was up on one of them, in a location we had been in since 1973. We couldn't come to an agreement with a landlord who wanted to triple the rent, and that's when we embarked on a much bigger project...We combined the two stores into the main location took over the rest of the building and added over 10,000 SQ feet of showroom and warehousing space. Check out the pics!
The red was our current showroom and warehouse space. The white area in middle is our race engine machine shop.The green area is the area we took over for additional warehouse space as well as our brand new showroom.

And some glimpses of our new showroom. 6000 sq ft, 7 35ft long aisles when finished, 11 registers and a whole lot more awesome displays. The aisles you see are only half their finished length right now.
We also built a 2 story mezzanine shelving system to stock much more then we have before. So if your a local customer or a prospective mail order customer, we will have much more in stock and be more efficient to better serve our customers.

I can only imagine, that's a ton of overhead just to keep those shelves stocked with parts. A lot of the enthusiasts we sell these parts to, that ask, "do you keep this in stock"? Don't understand how much it would cost to keep every part in stock that we sell on our websites. I understand completely about the money pit thing!

I can only imagine, that's a ton of overhead just to keep those shelves stocked with parts. A lot of the enthusiasts we sell these parts to, that ask, "do you keep this in stock"? Don't understand how much it would cost to keep every part in stock that we sell on our websites. I understand completely about the money pit thing!
