W2W 2005 GTO widebody
Here are a few pictures of a GTO widebody build that is starting. The engine is already done, it is a 455ci LS based on a LS7 block and heads.
2005 GTO
4L60E automatic
455ci W2W engine
W2W widebody fenders and quarters
Wheels- still looking!
The engine made 58X hp and 600+ ft lbs on our engine dyno with a very mild cam. It has smooth idle and over 400 ft lbs at 2500 rpm which should translate into a superb mannered street car that can smoke the tires at will!

These pictures show Paul fitting the original outer wheelhouse. He removes the pinch weld section, then moves the whole wheelhouse outward. He then makes a spacer section to fill the gap left behind between the inner and outer wheelhouse.
The passenger side is shown with the ext added, this is a look at what the final product will look like.

Here is some updated pictures of the car still in process. Mike is now fitting the inner wheelhouse to the modified quarter panel to gain tire clearance. He is checking with a small device he has made to make sure the placement of the outer wheelhouse is the same on both sides and will fit inside the flared rear carbon fiber outer fender.
After this is welded in the rear fascia will have a piece added to push it out from the body and make it match up with the carbon fiber fender, this will move the fascia out for clearance of the larger tire/rim combo.
This car will be on Hot Rod Power tour in the Corsa booth if you would like to see it in person.

A couple more pictures of the GTO project.
The car is ready for the bonding process in the rear. I shot a picture up from the floor at the rear section to try and show the width that will be gained at the rear fascia mounting point. This was a hard thing for me to capture, but you can see the pie shape of the flare as it moves forward. The rear fascia will follow this line and become wider in the back just using some of the flex built into the factory part. The painters are really moving quickly on this project, so I will try and get some more pictures along the way so everyone can see the process.

Engine coming out! 5-3-07
The GTO is primed and getting ready for paint. The guys are removing the engine today to prep the engine bay for a color change. The bodywork is very close to finished on the outer body, so we should see color soon!!

The engine is out and the scuffing of the door jambs is getting done. The car is getting color on Friday the 11th, it will be a lighter blue than it was new.

The car is out of the booth and all blue now! The color looks good in the sun, I can't wait to see the car rubbed and wheeled. Here are a few pictures of the car today.

We are getting the 455ci engine ready to install in the car now that the paint is done. Car is on a hoist in the shop getting ready for the heart install!
The new wheels are made by TSW and are fitted with Pirelli 305/25 ZR20 in the back and 275/30 zr19 in the front. These will fill up the new panels nicely!

The car has started the assembly process and is starting to look like a car again. All the mechanical upgrades are in process, new brakes as well as a Harrop rear cover are getting installed. Some handling upgrades are getting fitted as well to work with the additional grip of the larger wheel/tire combo.

The new brakes from Harrop have been installed. They are very nice quality parts, can't wait to see how they perform.
The car made 430hp at the tire with the factory ex manifolds and cats, should drive well. Check it out on Power Tour!
