Default 8'' subs

right now i have one kicker cvr 10 on an 800 watt powerbass amp. it sounds good and hits hard. most people are surprised it's just one 10 when they hear it but i just feel like changing it up. i was thinking about 4 8'' subs in a box behind the rear seat in the hatch area and have the amp mounted on the box so i could unplug the amp and remove the box as a whole easily when i need to drop some weight. i've only heard 8's once before and they sounded really good, but i'm just worried i'll loose some of my low's. what do you guys think?

I have some "large" 8" subs laying around from CDT that I want to try myself. I haven't done anything with them yet. The red one is a HD-8 that isn't made anymore and the yellow one is a Eurosport similar to a ES-80SQ. When I say "large" for an 8" sub I mean this:

Those are sexy as hell. What is teh XMAX on those? I have been thinking of going with four RE8's. I am just bored with my setup as well. I built a box, and now ant to build another bandpass for 4 8's.

Xmax on those is in the 14-16mm range. I believe the HD-8 actually has more then the Eurosport even though the ES is more expensive.
I have the RE Audio line of subs. Let me now if I can get those for you! I can offer some sort of discount on an order of 2 or more.

Cool, sounds good. I just need to make up my mind if I want the 8's, or if I just go with a nice 12.

have you heard the cdt and the re subs with similiar amps to do a fair comparison? which one do you think sounds better? it'd be between the red cdt's that are like $90 and the RE's that are around $100. i'm only worried that they won't be as low as the 10.

How many do you have and how much would you sell them for a piece? i've always been impressed with every kicker i've owned.

The 2 subs are comparable. Lower bass would be better with the RE8 and sound quality overall would be better with the EF-80. There is a tradeoff. The EF-80 has a cast frame, woven fiber cone for eatra stiffness. The RE8 has a stamped basket but also has more xmax (excurion) then the EF-80.
